Jacob wasted no time in proving himself to be an asset to the Jasper Livingstone household. Even he was surprised at the volume of skills he learned in a short period of time, and he was proud of the fact he only ever had to be shown once how to do a particular task before being able to do it perfectly from that point on.
Polly was an invaluable resource. She was a woman of quick wit and needed no excuse to laugh. She’d laugh at anything, which took Jacob a little time to get used to. He thought of her as Jolly Polly. More importantly, she was a veritable oracle when it came to anything related to Jasper or his property.
