"I'm already outside, Al," Shena said from behind the call.
After a long debate with the drama created by her mother and two half-sisters, Shena decided to leave the house, obeying her father's request. She walked steadily away, leaving behind the thousands of memories with her mother that she had lived with since she was in the womb.
Now carrying a backpack on her back, Shena was in front of a luxurious multi-storey building. This was the first time she had ever set foot in that place. If it wasn't for wanting to meet her best friend, Shena wouldn't have dared to stand in front of the building.
Alice wandered around, taking in every corner of the street. The girl smiled and then, waved. Alice half ran towards someone who was waiting for her.
"Hey, sorry it took so long," she said and immediately hugged Shena's body.
Shena nodded.
"What's wrong?" asked Alice who saw Shena coming with a sad face.
Alice's eyes widened when she saw the red mark on her best friend's cheek. Alice tried to touch, but Shena immediately avoided and covered it with her hair that was loose on the side of the face.
"Who hit you?" asked Alice staring with an angry face.
Shena shook her head. "No one. I accidentally hit the car door," Shena lied so Alice wouldn't get carried away.
"Don't lie Shen! Did Belinda do it or Angel? Tell me!" snapped Alice. She knew how the mother and two children treated Shena, which made Alice not believe the answer given by Shena.
"No, Al. Never mind, let's go home!" said Shena trying to change the subject.
Alice continued to stare at Shena. "Well, if you don't want to tell me everything yet." Alice said. "Let's go in first," she continued smiling.
Shena furrowed her brow. "So what? This place isn't good for us, Al," Shena whispered as she wandered around, afraid that someone bad might be approaching them.
Alice smiled. "You take it easy, Shen, it's safe here. I already know a lot of people inside," Alice replied.
Shena widened her eyes.
Knowing that her best friend would ask her many questions. Alice immediately pulled Shena's backpack so that her friend would let go of it and Alice would put it in her car. There was no way Shena could bring it inside.
Alice pulled Shena's hand to enter the building.
Shena kept her feet from following Alice.
"What are we doing here, Al?" asked Shena.
"This is where everyone vents their problems. I told you earlier, you just relax, it's safe inside," Alice replied.
"But Al-"
Before Shena could finish her sentence, Alice immediately pulled Shena's hand to go inside. The girl was forced to obey because she had no choice.
The music was so loud and deafening for newcomers like Shena. The girl covered her ears with a grimace as her heart felt like it was going to burst from the pounding sound.
Shena looked around, taking in every corner of the room. She shuddered in horror at the sight of men and women hugging each other so freely without feeling the slightest awkwardness, plus the clothes the women were wearing were very skimpy and revealing, more skimpy than what Alice was wearing.
"Sit here, Shen!" ordered Alice as she pointed to a chair at the mini bar.
"Vodka martini and orange juice," Alice said to the bartender.
The man gave her the okay symbol on his finger.
Shena sat down timidly in case a bad guy suddenly approached her.
"Hey, relax Shen," Alice said hitting Shena lightly on the arm.
"Let's just go home," Shena asked Alice.
"We'll be here for a while. I promise," Alice said smiling.
The male bartender gave Alice her order.
"You can have orange juice, you can't drink anything!" Alice said as she put down Shena's drink.
Shena looked at Alice's drink. "Is that alcohol?" she asked with a finger pointing at Alice's glass.
Alice smiled. "Just a little,"
Shena shook her head.
"I'm used to it Shen and trust me I won't get too drunk!" she assured Shena.
Shena was surprised to hear Alice's words. Used to it? Shena had just learned that and would demand an explanation from her best friend.
Realizing that she was being stared at by Shena. Alice said, "Yes. I'll explain everything at home."
"Who is Al?" asked a man while pointing at Shena using his lips.
"Friend. Watch out if you mess up!" Alice replied a little threateningly.
The man laughed and walked out of Alice's way as she didn't give an inch.
Alice continued to chug her drink and started to get drunk.
Another man approached. "Hi, want to drink together?" he asked.
Shena tried to dodge, clinging to Alice.
Alice who saw that immediately pushed the man away. "Get lost! Don't ever bother my brother!" Alice chased him away with a displeased face.
The man walked away.
Ever since Shena stepped foot at the entrance of the club, a pair of eyes continued to focus on the woman. He didn't take his eyes off her for even a second.
The man realized that this was Shena's first time in that place.
"Bro, you see. There's a woman who looks like she's here for the first time." A man said to his friend while pointing at Shena.
The man smiled. "Yeah. I've seen her from earlier. Why don't we give her an introductory greeting? I think I want something different tonight," he said.
The two men walked over with something in their hands.
"Shen, I'm going to the restroom for a moment," Alice said half-drunk.
"Let me take Al," said Shena.
Alice shook her head and waved her hand. "It's dangerous over there. You just wait here, I'll only be a minute," Alice said.
Alice took a half-conscious step and almost fell several times.
"Hi, beautiful," greeted a man and immediately sat in Alice's chair.
Shena looked fearfully at the two men. She folded her arms to protect her front body.
"Who are you Alice? Brother?" the man asked again.
Shena nodded, while the man on Shena's left side secretly put something into the woman's drink.
"Don't be afraid, we're Alice's friends and will keep you company while she goes to the toilet," said the man on the left.
Shena didn't know what to do and could only nod.
Both men smiled.
"Come on, cheers!" the first man invited Shena to speak while raising the glass in his hand, as did the man on Shena's left side.
Shena hesitated, but she remembered that the drink was safe because it didn't show any reaction.
Shena lifted her glass slightly and drank as usual.
As the minutes passed, Shena felt her body heat up and her breathing began to quicken.
"Are you okay?" the man asked, touching Shena's hand.
Shena felt something strange in her body, her blood was pumping and she wanted something, but she didn't know what it was.
The man brought his face closer. "You look like you need something," he whispered as he tried to get Shena out of her chair.
Both men smiled triumphantly at having almost succeeded in carrying Shena.
Just about to take a step. The two men were stopped by someone with several bodyguards.
"Let go of that woman!" he ordered with a sharp gaze.
"Hey, who are you? Better get lost and stay out of our business!" chased one of the men away.
"I saw you mix something into her drink!" he said.
The nice guy immediately pulled Shena out of the arms of the two jerks. The two strangers were angry and unhappy. But with one punch, the handsome man was able to knock out both strangers.
"Take care of them!" he ordered.
"Yes, sir," said his men.
Shena continued to rant and almost took her clothes off in there. The handsome man quickly picked her up and carried her outside because there was no way she could do that in there.
"It's hot," Shena said as she rubbed her neck.
"It's hot," said Shena again.
The man sitting next to her knew what kind of drug the two strangers had mixed together. He decided to take Shena to a nearby hotel and intended to pour cold water over her to help her wake up quickly.
