Chapter 9: Old Acquaintances

I see now with everything that happened, that I will have to get people to help me with taking down Alpha Ares. I am at my daughter's wedding to Sky Valmore and I couldn't help but see that Cayden seems to not want to be here. It looks like his mate is throwing him off, I can use this to my advantage to help take Alpha Ares down, after all, we were all close friends and I do know he was dear to me and he can be again. I waited until he was alone at his table and sat next to him, he looked at me confused and I smiled saying, "Hello, old friend can we chat for a minute?" Cayden looked at his watch saying, "You got fifty-five seconds," I said, "Now, is that how you greet a King and old friend," and he said, "Say what you got to say or move on, unless this is business and it's worth my time." I knew we still had bad blood between us because of what I did to Aidan and the others, I looked around and saw the mute looking at me.
He was holding back and I smiled knowing if he attacked me, I could call for his head, Cayden said, "My brother calls you an asshole." I laughed saying, "Just like old times but I am here on business, so let's make it quick," we got up and went to a private area, I could sense Michael not too far away, always protective of his brother. I knew after what happened at Ares and Michelle's Luna Ceremony that things would be different in the way security was around the area. I looked at Cayden who had grown stubble and had his hair in a man bun, he was miserable, I could see that so I laid my cards out on the table. I told him that Ares was too powerful and we needed to come together, especially after what happened at the Luna Ceremony and he laughed in my face and said, "Ares is just like any Alpha with few tricks up his sleeve and if you are so afraid of him, then you should change your ways."
I said, "Join me, Cayden, I will make it all worth it," and he said with such disdain, "So you can take me out like you did our best friends," I admit that hurt. I didn't want to kill them especially, Ty, he was closer to me but his loyalty to Aidan wouldn't have made him choose me. Drax on the other hand was a wild card and I didn't want to take the risk, I tried to do right by Toffe but he betrayed me. I hoped that Toffe would have come around by now but he kept spitting in my face. Cayden turned me down and I walked away after he promised to keep it between us, Michael just stared at me before I saw Cayden by the buffet table walking away as his former mate approached, I saw him being linked by someone and he was furious but he followed Allison back inside of the Palace.

Cayden was a hot mess and I knew he was grieving his failed relationship, Lord Fehmir had gotten the council to think about him mating that b***h Kaitlyn and I knew what his endgame was. However, I had more pressing matters and one of them was getting Cayden to snap out of his depressive state. I was talking to my sister who had heard that I may have a mate but I wasn't telling because I hadn't told Drax yet. I walked her back to her side of the Palace before heading to Cayden as he was still asleep, he sleeps a lot more lately as he is depressed over losing his mate, the way he lost his mate can be fatal to us if not for our linked bond, we are stronger than a lot of people think but that doesn't mean we won't die. We can survive a rejection but a force marking while our bond is still intact is fatal, Erik knew what he was doing, he had planned to kill my brother.
I entered his bedroom and it was dark so I opened the drapes and saw Jasmine next to him naked, I mind-linked her to leave and she got up as my brother was snoring so loudly, I wanted to smack him. "It's Toffe's wedding you need to get up, Aidan is expecting us," he groan and showed me his naked ass as he dragged himself to the bathroom. I ordered our servants to get him ready quickly, he would show up naked if he had his way, but I turned and left to go and get ready myself. We were in our SUV heading towards the wedding and Cayden looked distant, I said, "Penny for your thoughts, little bro," Cayden looked at me and said, "She hurt me, Michael, I have been waiting for her for so long and this is what I get and unfaithful mate." I said, "Maybe, it's not what you think, you should talk to her, maybe, there is something we are missing."
"f**k that, she knew what she was doing, she looked right at me and smiled, that vision keeps haunting me every time I closed my eyes, she knew this could have killed me and she still did it, if not for our linked bond and our Royal Blood, I would have died, damn it, I nearly did die in the accident because of her, I will never forgive her for this." I saw that he was hurting so I let it go, he may never get over this and I surely hope we can fix this. I don't think she did this on her own, something was not adding up, I saw the way she looked at him, she was in love and I know the truth, she wasn't the backstabbing b***h she appears to be because he would never be the same if she was. The wedding was going well until I observed King Roman having words with my brother, I linked him, "What does that asshole want?"
Cayden said, "He wants something or the other," and then they went to talk privately, I was not far from them, and I followed Cayden because I was also his protector and private guard. After listening to that i***t, I was in disbelief, he wanted us, well Cayden, to betray Aidan. I am saying this now, I would never and Cayden might be on edge now but he would never betray Aidan, Aidan is his best friend, we all grew up together, and no one wanted to be a traitor like him. It amazes me how Roman was with us growing up and he could betray all of us like this, I honestly couldn't wait until he was dead, damn fool. Ty linked me to follow Cayden and Allison, he was finally going to hear her out and I wanted to know as well if she was willing to fix this or if she accepted Bradley.
I was outside the room when I heard screams and I busted the door open as Ty and Addison followed, Ty showed Cayden what was going on and I was furious for him, we are all linked to that stupid spell. Bradley was having s*x hurting Allison and I stayed with her until Ty and Cayden found him. After Ty found a solution to the problem with my brother and his mate, it wasn't going to be that much helpful but it was a start, Ty was temporarily going to unlink their bond so they wouldn't feel each other until the spell was reversed. After they both consented to the unlinking it had a side effect, Allison lost her memories of a life with Cayden and that broke his heart more.

I was banished years ago from Faeora with my brother Stu and I have returned, I was confused at first walking out of the tomb. My brother was waiting on the outside and said, "Was it worth it?" I said, "That b***h killed me, didn't she?" He smiled saying, "I told you, Vivianne was bad news," and I nodded, and smiled but when I stepped out, the sunlight burned me and I screamed going back into the dark at lightning speed, and said, "What the f**k?" My brother laughed shaking his head and handed me a ring saying, "You are not royalty to walk in the sun so she made this for you." I looked at him and said, "You sure?" He showed me his ring and said, "I have been here for a few years but because you insulted her, she made sure you were asleep longer than I was." I ended up at my brother's apartment and the world has changed since I made the deal with, Vivianne. I wanted revenge on an old friend, I lost so much and was shunned, someone outed who we were and we had bounties on our heads for all the hits that we did.
I was handed a blood bag and my hunger was intense, we decided to go to a blood store, one for vampires so we don't have to kill innocents. I decided to learn about what happened since we were gone and my brother gave me a quick lesson on the Royals, especially one in particular. I asked about Kaitlyn and he said, "She is no longer his mate but she is off limits, so let's move on," and I agreed, I didn't want the b***h anyway, just a f**k. I wanted everything Michael had, the mute didn't deserve it, but I would make him pay for everything, even if it took years. King Roman was losing businesses and money, and we wondered who was behind it all, we decided to invest to build our wealth, I was never living as I did before, I was going to be an Elite so I could be closer to my enemy.
