Chapter 22: Prisoners

Kaitlyn

I visited my father in prison and it didn't go so well, somewhere along the line he pissed off Michael. I knew that would eventually happen as he had been a thorn in Michael's side for way too long. I visited Michael but wasn't allowed to go near his magical cocoon, he would have killed me and I felt so sorry for him and his family. He had found love with Emerie, she was everything in a mate he could ask for and I was happy for him because I couldn't give him what he wanted. My father had me bound to him in a way that I could not defy him anymore, I loved Michael so much and I will forever regret not running away with him. I didn't want this or want to hurt Cayden, and although I loved Cayden, it was nothing compared to what I had with Michael. My father didn't care what I did, he was never proud of me, I tried to prove myself to him for years and he was never satisfied.

He slapped me in my face on more than one occasion when I tried to reason with him and I refused to tell him about the baby for its safety, I lost Michael's daughter and I refused to let go of another child. I had just woken up with Cayden next to me, his eyes were glowing like he was mind-linking someone. I kissed his cheek and he held my hand and said, "Good Morning, Katy, how did you sleep?" I looked at him and smiled, saying, "Peaceful," before he got up and said, "We need to talk, what are you not telling me, Katy?" I looked at him and said," I need to tell you something and I hope you are not mad," he looked at me for me to go on and I blurted out, "I am having your child." Cayden smiled kissed my forehead and said, "Get dressed, we have court for your father," I was surprised and ran to the bathroom but felt a bit disappointed he wasn't more excited about my pregnancy.

I was keeping the pregnancy from him in fear of what he was going to think, he was pulling away from me, I wasn't blind, and his love for Allison was growing, I had already lost but my father wouldn't stop pushing. I lost everything because of my father my daughter, Michael, and now I am losing Cayden but I would be damned if I lose this baby. I was in the courtroom sitting next to Cayden as I was going to be his Queen., I rubbed my belly and smiled at myself as I was carrying the future King or Queen, his heir to the throne. The coronation will be in a few weeks, hopefully, before I start showing, "I really want to look great in my wedding dress," I thought. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard the door open and saw my father, Cayden squeezed my hand before smiling and I knew he was finally releasing my father, but Michael was giving off an angry aura. I looked at my father and gave him a reassuring smile before Cayden looked at him and said, "Rise, now tell me why did you kidnap the princess?"

I froze in shock as I knew he had a plan to force the coronation, but there was no way that he had this in mind, no, he wouldn't be this stupid, but he was power-hungry. This had to be a mistake, I usually was in on or knew about his scheming, but why wasn't I informed this was on the table? I would have tried to stop him, but I foolishly handed Cayden a letter that my father handed me about the kidnapped princess, thinking he had just received it. He even told me to hand it to Cayden without implicating myself. His words, "Hand this to Cayden, but make it seem like it was left there," I didn't ask any questions. Oh my god, they are going to kill me and I hugged my belly thinking about my baby. I tried to hide my nervousness and looked at Michael, who smirked at me, he hated me for rejecting him all those years ago and this was his revenge for hurting him. I couldn't move as I started to think of the things I would never get to do with this baby, my life was doomed from the start, I knew that now.

Michael

I looked a Kaitlyn when she realized what was happening, I smirked because, "I got you now b***h, you will never sit on the throne," I thought. Max was going to die finally, it may have taken longer than I had expected but I knew his greed would always land him here, too bad he dragged his daughter along with him. I loved Kaitlyn at one point but she was a fruit from a poisonous tree and it was time for a debushing. I watched Ty do his thing and Max actually accused me of trying to get him killed for his daughter rejecting me and although that was part of it, that wasn't the whole picture so I let Ty show them the history between us and why Matthew was banished years ago. Matthew's real father was part of the council, his stepfather raised the boys, Stuart was his stepfather's son but I don't think he ever knew.

We only found out after the banishment, which meant that he was part of the hierarchy, he wasn't royalty but he belonged in court. His mother made that call to keep him away from his father as his father was a strict man and not easily bent to anyone's will but ours, of course. He let his son be banished without saying a word, he stepped down when my father did, they were best friends and decided to retire together. I never thought of Matthew until today, his brother didn't need to leave but he chose to be with him and his father was upset and never returned to the Palace, they moved away to a small village on the outskirts of the city and have two more daughters. Omri read out his charges and he was found guilty on all counts, Ty was the one who was going to execute him and although I wanted to do it, I had bigger fish to fry when I got my mate back.

I wanted to handle this first before I left to meet Drax and Toffe, they had my men and some of our allies on standby. I looked at Kaitlyn and she was still frozen in her seat, her mind was far away, and I could tell, I almost felt sorry for her. She didn't deserve the hand that she was dealt but she made those decisions on her own, she hurt me and threw our life away, I gave her so many chances to fix this but the idea of Queen was what she chased but the joke is on her, she still would have been Queen eventually. The air felt strange as Max was made to kneel in front of everyone, the court had backed away as he would be executed there. The doors and windows flew open and a bright light entered the room, everyone was frozen except for me and Ty. I released my magic, trying to draw the dark magic out, but Bastien wasn't fast enough.

Ty turned to shoot Lord Fehmir quickly realizing what was going on, but he was moving in slow motion. I wanted to grab him, but Lord Fehmir vanished out of the room, leaving both his daughters at our mercy. When everyone was back to normal, I was furious as I yelled, "Find him and take Lady Kaitlyn to her room, she is on house arrest." Cayden said, "Michael, I will deal with her, she is with my child," I was shocked but understood his dilemma and said, "As you wish, but she is dead after this." Cayden nodded in understanding and looked at Kailyn in his arms, she had fainted. He looked torn resting his hand on her belly and I knew he had second thoughts about killing her. The Dark Witch was public enemy number one after the stunt she pulled and Fehmir would be killed on sight as per orders.

Night of the Rescue

After the revelation of what my mate had been put through, I wanted that pack wiped out but Aidan wouldn't allow that unless everyone knew and no one laid a finger to help, Emerie. Emerie was Royalty and kidnapping, raping, and impregnating a Queen was treason. Toffe woke up a little dizzy with murder in his eyes and Drax yielded him in, I said, "Sorry puppy, I didn't mean to," he walked away cussing before he linked me, "I will get you back for this," we laughed. Toffe said, "Magic would have to be used to get Emerie pregnant which is more charges added to Alpha Marcus," Drax was filling Aidan in on our findings. Aidan had requested to bring Alpha Marcus in alive but I wanted him dead, I had no idea who this man was or what I ever did to him to hurt me and Emerie like this. Toffe was waiting for this to be over so he could head out with Aidan to meditate because he was on edge.

The Supremes needed to meditate at intervals especially when they got a new power to keep their mind sharp and power in check. Having their fated mates also helps balance that power and lucky for them, they are blessed with two fated mates and I wondered if that is a blessing or a curse. My men had breached the borders and we were taking them out until the alarm went off alerting everyone, we knew this was going to get messy, I linked my men to be sharp and get Emerie but was told they were taking on pack warriors so I headed to the house as Bashien took over. Alpha Marcus had run away, he had men behind him, and he was such a coward to leave his pack to burn. Drax sent Emile's men after him along with two dragons to drag his ass back here and I couldn't wait to end him.

His Beta, Boar, was taken away with the other prisoners, they would be executed once I got my love back and I walked towards the pack house. I could sense her and I couldn't wait to touch her. Drax had prepared me for what I would see once I opened this door and my heart broke, she had been through so much. I killed the guards once I got there, but they didn't stand a chance, as Bashien was drawing their life force as we walked towards the room where my mate was, and we made sure not to hurt our men who were battling other wolves and supernatural in the pack house, making their fight easier. I opened the door and I saw the beauty looking at me smiling, but I could see she didn't believe her eyes. I sensed there was something else about her and then it hit me, that son-of-a-b***h changed her into a wolf, she had a wolf. I looked at her pregnant belly and my heart broke, she was a shell of herself, she had a few old bruises and I sensed the spell that was on her.

I felt awful that I wasn't able to protect her, I said a sleeping spell as she went limp in my arms. I don't know if it would be painful if we tried to remove her, but our witches were on standby to help me unbind her from this land, I finally had my mate back, but is it really her? I had Emerie in my arms as I left the room, she was in a peaceful sleep and I could feel the dark magic around her. I placed her on the back seat of my SUV and the witch chanted a spell to help us cross the border with her, but she said, "It is a strong spell, Your Majesty," Bashien came forward as my eyes glowed and Drax said, "Don't kill her," Bashien said, "I won't, you lap dog," before Drax growl, "f*****g fairy." Everyone laughed as they knew we went way back and I started to drain the dark magic from Emerie and with it, I felt her pain.

I asked Vlad to calm her before his eyes glowed and I felt the calming aura surrounding her giving her a pleasant dream about her kids and me. I thanked him before we drove over the border and opened a huge portal for our men to cross over. Some of the other warriors decided to take flights back in a few days, needing a vacation, but I wanted my mate home safe. I watched my love sleep as we entered our Palace Grounds, her pup moved and I rested my hand on her stomach, Bashien said, "He has a bright future," I replied, "But do we raise him as ours?" Bashien said, "I don't know, but I will accept whatever you decide," before he went silent, leaving me to decide on my own. Alpha Marcus was in another van with the prisoners and I wanted so much to kill that son-of-a-b***h for what he did to my mate, I had her back and that was all that mattered as I held her close until we reached home.

After the alarm went off when I was making love to my future wife, I wasn't happy to leave her but I felt how happy she was with me, she loved me although she still walked on eggshells around me. I wanted that to change so that after the wedding, I would prove to her that having me as a mate was not that bad, I would love and cherish her and my pup, that's all I wanted. I planned to have plenty more pups with her, I always wanted a big family and once our firstborn reached that age, we could retire and be with each other for a long time. I was taken out of my thoughts after meeting men downstairs and all-out war was happening, my Gamma, Albert, filled me in on what was happening and then I froze seeing Michael in the wind. He was surrounded by a silver light and my men were dropping like flies, my Gamma said, "We need to go," I said, "I won't go without my mate."

He yelled, "If we stay here, we will die, she is safe, they won't hurt her," then Barbara said, "Invoke law twenty-four," and gave it to me, I read it before running off. We had crossed over the border and headed to the lake where we would be safe when I saw a dragon land in front of us breathing fire. I hid behind a tree hearing my men screaming and being burnt, I looked up to see an Elf that smiled before he knocked me out. When I came through, I was in a cell and my Gamma was next door still asleep or maybe unconscious, he had burns on his legs, I turned to see Beta Ryker looking at me and his eyes clouded over, I knew then that it was time to start the show.
