Chapter 37: Stolen

Ten Years Ago

Roman had built his army and after leaving a very intense meeting, I headed over to my family to ensure they were okay. Halle had our toddler breastfeeding who smiled and released her breast when he saw me, I picked him up and hugged my bubbly two-year-old and said, "You need a bottle young man," before handing him back to Halle who beamed with pride at her family. I kissed her saying, "We will continue to have the six children that we plan for when all of this is over and the kids are older," she kissed me saying, "Be careful." I looked around to see the twins were playing with their little sister, I kissed my babies and left to go to make sure everything was going according to plan. Halle was my heart and looking at how much she loved motherhood and how beautiful my mate was always melted my heart, she was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was on alert when Cayden and Michael left to assist Aidan, I was in charge momentarily with the former King assisting in getting everyone to safety when we heard the alarm.

I was mind-linked by a warrior who stated the rogues had breached the territory on the southern border closer to the Elvish Kingdom and were taking on lots of rogues. I ordered my men to attack and my wife went into our built-in panic room with the former Queen, her mother, and our kids with two assigned bodyguards. The council was locked away in a protective building with their families and the hospital for our injured was heavily guarded. I rushed out in my armor along with the former King and flew to where our attack was happening, most of the council and the hierarchy have wings, so many of our warriors are still on the ground. Wings are something that is earned eventually, or you are born into a family that has wings. Emerie will earn her wings when she mates with Prince Michael and I earned mine when I mated Princess Halle, our Supreme Luna Michelle got her wings when she mated Aidan, usually, it would have been just Fae royalty but Aidan is no ordinary Alpha.

I reached the battlefield and there seemed to be quite a lot of rogues, I saw someone who looked like Roman speeding through the rogues but when I followed him, he disappeared on me before being attacked by two Dark Faes on Roman's side. We battled until I eventually got the upper hand and killed them, I saw my father-in-law hurt and was about to be killed by a rogue before I shot him between the eyes saving the former King. Two of my warriors helped him back off the field to the hospital, I heard a horn and looked to my left seeing Elves running through a portal opened by King Emile before he disappeared again. All the rogues were dead except one Fae and one wolf. I looked at the wolf and ordered him killed and looked at the Fae and had him arrested, my stupid brother, I wanted to shoot his ass for being so greedy and dumb but I put my silver gun to his head saying, "King Cayden will give you your punishment."

After things settled down here, we were still on alert and locked down, I headed to the conference room waiting until we got the news that Roman was dead and the Supremes were revealed, I smiled but others in the room were shocked and looked at me. I said, "I was sworn to secrecy," before deciding to go visit my brother to find out why he had betrayed us, then I would go to my family to let them know that I was okay. On my way down, I linked Cayden giving him the heads up and begging him to don't kill Malkie, just imprisoned him for his crimes and he agreed but would handle it when he gets back. In the confusion, I saw a shadow so I went to investigate to ensure the Palace was cleared of all rogues and enemies before I signaled to open the panic rooms. I didn't see anyone and when I turned around I was blindsided and knocked out. I woke in a dark room and I was weak, I couldn't link anyone, I tried for a long time.

I was speechless as well until a man walked into the room and smiled, he said, "I will take him with me," and closed the door. I was taken out of the room and tried to fight but I was weak, I couldn't feel my wings, I was led to a room with a man who told me, "My name is Boss and that is how you will address me from now on." I looked at him with venom in my heart and asked, "What is going on?" He said, "You are a good fighter, I know where you came from and no one will look for you, you are my property and prized possession, if you want your family to live you will do as I say." Then I was shoved over a bench and he branded me, I screamed in pain. I ended up at this location where I refused to fight but I was beaten, given blood to heal, and beaten again, until the Boss was angered and said, "I have men in the Palace, Prince Omri, if you don't do as I say, I will have your pretty little wife raped by my men before killing her and sell your children into slavery, not even her brothers will find them."

I gave in and did what he said from that time on and then one day he bit into me and I screamed out in pain before I passed out. I woke up two days later and this beautiful woman was cleaning me up, I started to feel a hunger like no other and I jumped up but was chained up, she handed me a blood bag, and I drank to my heart's content before I was satisfied. My Boss entered the room, forced a kiss on her, and said, "Welcome back, you need to train, you have a big fight in a few days," before he left me with his other guards, then I was taken to a room where it finally dawn on, I was a vampire and I need to find a way back to my family. The night of the fight, it had a lot of elites, it was an underground fighting ring and it was insane and intense. I knew now that I was in Rogueland and there was no way of getting out of here, I knew no one here and no one recognized me or said nothing.

After I won the match, I was taken back to a room and the same girl was sent to me and she dropped her clothes. She was naked and I could see she had a slight baby bump and she lay on the bed and spread her legs with tears in her eyes. I picked up my shirt and gave it to her and told her, "I will not f**k you like this, I have a family," she said, "If you don't, they will punish me." I hated what she said and I looked closely seeing a few bruises, I heard her heartbeat and I wanted to feed so I got up and took a blood bag. I eventually had s*x with her to avoid any more pain and as the weeks rolled by and I made money, I said to the Boss, "I want Carrie, let her live with me and she would no longer sleep with men," he agreed.

Present Day

After a dreadful week of getting my life back and hearing about my wife's breakdown, I felt horrible, I woke up in the guest room after I gave Halle the space she required. We have not spoken about my predicament but my boys were fascinated and we kinda bonded on it, we hung out for the past few days and it felt great, to feel that fatherly connection again with them. I played soccer with them and a few of their friends and they were happy that I was back although they were deeply hurt about what Lucas did. They asked questions on how I was changed and if I will bite them in their sleep and I admit that one was funny. Maddison was afraid that I was disappointed in her and we talked about it, she cried on my shoulder when I told her, "My love for you had not changed, You were a kid, and you couldn't have known." She kissed my cheek and said, "Don't bite me," I laughed because that sounded like something Hallem told her.

My youngest son was the easiest to warm up to, we both love video games and it was amazing, I introduced them to Bronx over the phone and he has a play date over the weekend. Freya and I decided to co-parent although she understands that I am still mated with Halle, she was hurt and hoped she would meet her mate. I wanted that for her although I do love her, I will have Bronx on weekends and some holidays. I heard my bedroom door and I knew it was Halle with my senses increased, she looked at me and I patted the bed next to me for her to sit. It was still early and quiet around the Palace. She asked, "Did it hurt when you changed?" I smiled, "Yes and no, I was unconscious for two days until it was completed." She smiled touching my hand next to her and I interlocked my fingers with hers feeling the tingles that I missed for so long. She told me about important milestones in our kids' lives and she was an amazing mom, her eyes lit up talking about them, she loves our kids so much I almost cried that I missed it all.

She explained how she felt that she made love to a man and I stopped her and said, "He had access to you because of his lies and deception, I would never blame you for loving me or who you thought was me," she cried, she needed to hear that. She thought she had cheated on me and I told her, "You didn't, if anything, I'm the one who took another to bed and started a family," but she kissed me and said, "It was ten years and you thought you would never see us again," I kissed her back, placing her in my lap hugging her close because I needed to hear her forgiveness for not fighting harder to get back to them. Halle spent the day with me and then the night sleeping next to me, we didn't have s*x but this was a start to our healing. I told her everything she needed to know so we could move forward and this time, I was more alert about my surroundings and decided to look into who was the Boss.
