Addison let the tears spill over and brushed them with the back of her hand. “I don’t know.” Jess took both of Addison’s hands in hers. “Oh, honey, you’ll figure it out. I know you.” “We’ll see.” Jess glanced at her watch and frowned. “s**t. I’ve gotta run. But what do you say… same time, same place, next week?” “Jess.” “Yes?” Addison bit her bottom lip. “I’m scared.” Jess smiled just a little. “You should be. You’re head over heels in love. Love is about as scary as it gets. The rest . . . Well, the rest will work itself out.” * * * Determined to clear her mind, Addison used the ladies’ room and slipped out the back door, happy to have to walk a little farther than necessary back to her car.
