A Prank

He just kept crying for a while for reasons unknown while everyone just kept walking away by turning a bling eye on him. He didn't want the last day to be so bad but it seemed like it ended as the worst day.
But then all of a sudden he pulled himself up and sat straight.
"No... not everything is bad about today...", he said.
"Mom and Dad are coming back aren't they?"
He remembered that today was the day when finally after 1 whole year he would be meeting his parents.
"Even Lily... she would be back..."
He thought about all of them. His parents were a bit busy and stayed abroad while Lily stayed with them.
Jay stayed in a separate house with his grandparents because he didn't like going abroad but unfortunately he had to shift his home once every year.
That was because his parents would be back for a while from abroad and that too not because of meeting Jay, it would be because of some important jobs that would have been given to them in specific location.
Earlier he used to ask them to shift the house and location, but right now it was all done without his own will.
His parents were returning today and wanted to shift to another place that was 150 miles from the current location.
"Haha...", he laughed a bit.
Though he was sad because they never visited him during his birthdays, he was happy that atleast he would be able to meet them tonight.
Now he had basically nothing to do other than thinking about the next moments when suddenly his phone started to ring.

Jay stood up and then removed the phone from his pocket.
He took a look at the number from which he was being called.
"Lily...?", he asked with surprise.
Lily was none other than his own sister who was just a year younger than him.
She had blonde hairs and red sparkly eyes lik ethat of a ruby.
It was the same for Jay who had reddish eyes but they looked more like orange because of dim coloring.
"Lily? What's wrong...?", Jay asked right away because he felt that something weird was happening.
He was able to hear some other background noises.
"Brother...", Lily was weeping and was calling out to Jay again and again.
"Lily!? Why are you crying?", Jay raised his voice and asked.
He was also getting scared just by hearing her cry. Moreover, he wondered what could have happened that could even make Lily cry because he knew that Lily would hardly ever cry as she was quite brave.
She would never run away from difficulties and would always face them with a smile.
Each and everyday she would call Jay to ask about his well being and would scold him or appreciate him on behalf of their mother.
Jay was now panicked because this was by no means normal.
"Brother... save me... they... they will kill me!", Lily said while weeping.
The moment Jay heard that, he lost his voice.
He failed to understand what was happening. He stared at the phone for a moment and thought that she might have been making fun of him or would be just pulling her leg.
"Haha, are you trying to fool me Lily?", he asked.
"Brother... I'm telling the truth..."
"..."
"They... they killed mom and dad, save me brother. I don't want to die...", the voice was proving to be quite terrified but even now Jay thought she was just joking.
"Sigh, listen Lily, I don't like this joke...", immediately after saying that he ended the call.
"Tsk, already my day was ruined and now Lily was making such idiotic jokes and worsened my mood...", he said.
It was not his fault in the first place. Lily had always been joking with him and would sometimes even make jokes such as ghost or zombies or something else.
Initially Jay took all those seriously and just by hearing that he would rush out, but she herself would call and then tell that it was a prank.
Because of that he failed to believe what she was telling.

Jay took a look at the call again and found that Lily had called again.
He picked it up despite being annoyed only to hear the same thing again.
"Brother... I'm telling the truth... I..."
Just by hearing that much, he ended the call once again and then switched off his phone so that he wouldn't receive any more calls from her or anyone else.
"Damn, it's so frustrating when she actually makes jokes over the death of mom and dad...", Jay said.
He then stood up and started to walk back towards the home.
"I'll reach home and then scold her nicely!", he expected them to have already reached home.
Probably that was why he wasn't able to believe the killing thing that she was trying to tell with the best of her abilities.
He just rushed towards the home in order to find them as soon as possible despite the blood that was bleeding from his face.
'Sigh... because of what she was telling, my heart is already at unrest...', he thought.
"But I have no idea as to why I am feeling as if my heart has become empty...", was what Jay said to himself while walking.
Within 20-25 minutes he could already see his home that was in his sight. It took him less time to return because he was excited to meet his mom and dad as well as Lily.
He was right now not staying with his grandparents so there would have been no one in his home but that didn't matter to him anyway.
He soon arrived and then entered the house by opened the door after unlocking it.
Slowly and steadily he walked inside while looking here and there.
"They haven't yet arrived?", he asked himself.
"Sigh, so was she pranking me while travelling?", Jay said.
He stopped thinking about that and just walked and washed his face and freshened himself.
*yawn*
"Looks like I'm a bit tired...", he said after tending his wounds by plastering and bandaging the areas.
"Let's sleep for a while...", after saying this he walked towards his bed and laid on it.
He slept the moment he reached the bed. It seemed like he didn't care about anything in the world right now.
