Chapter Five
Timothee's wolf howled at the blood moon as if thanking her for his rebirth. It was loud and heard even from miles away. And it echoed in the mountains across the river where he lived with his grandmother.
As the moon turned back to its usual color, Timothee transformed back to his human form. "Grandma..." He said as he covered his naked body as best as he could.
Grandma Thalia ran to his grandson, already in her human form, dressed and with a blanket on hand. "It's always confusing the first time. But you'll get used to it." She said as she wrapped Timothee's body with the blanket.
Timothee looked up to the gentle face in front of him. "Please tell me who I am, grandma." Timothee walked along the old lady back to their cabin. Once they sat down on the wooden sofa, grandma Thalia heaved a sigh before she started the story. "Well you are destined for great things---"
"Grandma, I heard that line every time you thought I was asleep. Please tell me something else." Timothee uttered as he cut off his grandma's first line.
Grandma Thalia chuckled. "Well, your real name is Timothee Ellesmere. That's our real name. We came all the way from the north. Far far away. We are werewolves, Timothee. From a pure bloodline. Never once we were mixed with humans."
Timothee's brows furrowed. "Does it matter if we were pure blood, grandma?"
Thalia took her grandson's hands. "It does in our kind. At least in our clan. Our old pack."
"Old pack?"
"Our pack used to live in a small quiet territory. Your parents were the Alpha and the Luna. You were just a baby when our pack was attacked by a group of vicious rogues."
"But grandma, why did you hide all these?"
"This was the right time for you to know. You phased. You now understand what you are."
"My parents..." Timothee uttered. He knew about his parents passing when he was a baby. He's never cried over it. But his heart ached every time he would recall the story when his grandma told him about it.
"They died protecting you. And I had to take you with me. We're the only survivors of our pack, Timothee. I promised your mother that I will help you rebuild our pack back when the time comes."
"Aren't pure bloods very strong, grandma? How could our clan be wiped out like that?"
"We are one of the strongest, Timothee. Someday you'll understand. You have to build your strength and be the best you can be. Work with your wolf. He'll be with you from now on. He is you. And you are him."
"Thank you, grandma." Timothee has heard from grandma Thalia that his parents died when he was a baby while protecting him. Now he knows what actually happened. Even if it's just an overview of it.
"My wolf's name is Azure."
Timothee smiled. "I saw her blue eyes, grandma."
"Did your wolf tell you his name?"
Timothee nodded. With a proud grin on his face. "Beau. His name is Beau."
Thalia pulled his grandson for a hug. "Beau is a beautiful name. It fits him perfectly. He was glowing under the blood moon."
"Grandma, you said I was meant for great things, what does that mean?" Timothee uttered inside his grandma's embrace.
Thalia cupped Timothee's face and gazed at him tenderly. "One day, you'll know. How about we talk more about your wolf."
Timothee straightened his back against his seat while hugging a pillow. He was very excited as he told his grandmother about Beau. He was very proud.
In a short time that he was connected with his wolf, Timothee has known quite a few things about Beau. Not just his beautiful appearance, but also some of his innate abilities and a bit of his personality.
"He sounds amazing." Thalia commented.
"He is. He's a bit know it all though. Does that run in our blood, grandma?" Timothee asked.
Thalia chuckled. "I guess so. Our pack came from the superior lineage of wolves. Timothee, I want to tell you more about our pack but it's getting late. For now, let's get some sleep. You're still young. You need to grow bigger, little pup."
Timothee didn't complain. His grandmother may not have told him everything about his phasing, Beau was filling him with the gaps.
"I will leave the bracelet here for you. Based on your size, you will be able to wear it even when you phase. Get some sleep, little pup. We'll go for a run tomorrow."
Beau was happy. So Timothee smiled at his grandma before he gave her a goodnight hug and went to bed.

"What were those leaves you rubbed on us last night, grandma?" Timothee asked the next day as they ate their breakfast.
"It helps hide our scent. The alpha on this land allowed us to stay in their territory but nobody else knows we are here. We are outsiders. Until your turn eighteen, I can't let you receive an acceptance ritual into their pack."
"Why's that?"
"Because I promised your father. You can't be another pack's member completely until you find your mate. You are your father's only son. You were born to be the next leader. You have to grow up, find your mate and rebuild our clan."
"Mate?"
"Your forever love, little pup."
"I don't understand, grandma."
"Someday you will, Timothee. Someday. When your turn eighteen, you will find your mate. Wolves are given one mate their whole life by the moon goddess. You can't defy her will. You can only accept it. It's unforgivable to reject one's mate. So when you find yours, give all your love and being. That someone will be your everything."
Timothee still didn't understand. But he shrugged it off. He understood about mate. But forever love, he's confused. "You'll find out in the future, Timothee. Let's just train for now and become stronger." Beau told Timothee.
"You communicate with Beau?" Thalia asked. Timothee nodded. "You seem to get along then." Timothee nodded again. This time with a silly grin on his face.
Timothee had been so happy to know that he doesn't only have his grandma. He has Beau now. And Azure.
That day, Beau went for another run with Azure. The white wolf even went for a few lapses before he retired and rolled over the green grass covered clearing in front of their cabin. He was very happy to be let out.
Timothee and Beau got to know more of each other. Timothee learned that Beau had been watching him the whole time since he was a baby. But he couldn't be let out until the boy turned twelve.
"You've grown strong, Timothee. I'm proud to be your wolf."
"Thank you, Beau. By the way, those plants that grandma would use on our wounds after training, they weren't really herbal plants, were they?" Timothee asked his wolf. He kind of understood that werewolves can heal themselves.
"They were. But they weren't the reason for your healing. Herbal plants don't erase scars, Timothee."
Timothee chuckled. "So true. I was always puzzled why after so many wounds I got from her attacks during training, I never had one single battle scar to show for it."
"You have your strength to show for it. Soon, you will have to train with Azure. As me. Don't worry, I won't take over your full consciousness. You will see and learn what I do. We are one, Timothee. And you are special."
Timothee was confused. "Special?"
"You will share consciousness with me and I won't take over your body and do whatever I want without our mutual understanding. Other wolves sometimes take over their human counterpart and go on a rampage without the human knowing it."
"They can do that?" Timothee asked. Surprised.
The wolf chuckled from the spirit plane. It's where the wolf counterpart stays while their human is in control of their consciousness and body. "They can and they do. I have lived before, Timothee. I know."
"Wow! But how come you'll wait for our mutual understanding before you do something? What if it's your instinct tells you to do something uncontrollable, would you still wait for me to decide? Wolves can be impulsive, right?"
"As long as I can help it, we'll do things together. I am you. You are me. We are one, Timothee."
"You're awesome, Beau."
"And so are you, Timothee."
