Claiming Her Birth Right

Morning

**** Lawrence's POV ***

I planned to stay the night and watch Myah's door, but I decided to go to the hotel and sleep. I was exhausted. I also needed to bathe etc. However, Loki was upset and whimpered until I fell asleep. He was missing Myah, and so was I.

I woke up at 7 am got dressed, and went straight to the Apple store. I didn't like that Myah didn't have a phone.  I wanted to spoil her and make sure she never wanted for anything.  I hate that dump she was living in and hoped soon she would leave with me.  I went ahead and checked out my hotel room. I hope to stay with her or in my car watching over her now that I'm rested. 

I know I told her that I would wait until the afternoon, but I'm headed to her apartment now, hoping she's awake.

*** Myahs POV****

The sun was coming in through the blinds, and there was no way I could get any more sleep. I wish I could afford curtains. I sat up on the side of my mattress and remembered I was hearing a voice in my head last night. I'm going crazy, I said to myself.

"No, you're not going crazy. I'm still here. I am your wolf, and my name is Rain. I've been here since the day you were born. Most people's wolf awakens on their 16th birthday. You had been through so much. I didn't think it was a good idea. So the moon goddess granted me a long slumber." Rain said. 

I sat in silence, trying to process what Rain said. Then I heard a knock on the door. It was Lawrence, so I stepped back and allowed him to enter my apartment.  I was extra careful not to touch him as there was always static. However, today just looking at him, my stomach had butterflies, and I could feel my heart begin to race. I could smell the scent of pine cones and cinnamon. We stood awkwardly for a while, staring at each other.

clearing my throat....."So um, there is a wolf in my head." I said.

Lawrence stands there staring at me, and for the second time, I notice his eyes change colors.  They go from Amber to Black.

"What the hell, Lawrence, what's going on?" That's the second time your eyes have changed colors, and don't tell me its the lighting," I said

"Did you give me drugs yesterday, Lawrence?"  First, you jokingly tell me we are werewolves, and then I come home and start hallucinating there is a wolf in my head! 

Lawrence stood there with a smirk on his face. 

I begin to get so mad I'm trembling.  Lawrence "why the f**k are you looking at me with shitty ass grin!" 

As I begin to yell, my nails started to retract. They grow about three inches and look like they belong to an animal. This is not normal what is happening to me. 

I began to breathe slowly and fast. The room starts to spin, and everything goes dark. 

***30 mins later ****

I wake up lying on my bed.  I have a washcloth on my forehead.  I sit up, and Lawrence is sitting beside my bed. 

How long was I out for?  I asked

About thirty minutes, Lawrence said

Lawrence, you weren't joking yesterday, were you? 

"No, I  wasn't, he said. There is a lot I would like to tell you. Some of it will be easier if I show you." Lawrence said. 

"Okay, show me," I say

"Not here. I don't want to destroy your apartment.  Would you go for a ride with me?" Lawrence asked 

Yes, I will. I'm starting to get worried this apartment is full of lead paint, and  I'm hallucinating anyway. 

Lawrence laughed, "Babe, I'm about to blow your mind." 

**** Lawrence POV ****

The only way I know how to ease her mind is to show her my wolf form.  When she told me her wolf had come forward, I was excited, but Loki was very excited. I was worried I wouldn't be able to control him. He began howling and hollering, MATE! So I am also talking to him about the importance of taking it slow. 

We drive for about thirty minutes to the woods. I pull on the side of the road and tell her to come with me. 

"I have got to get my s**t together. Now I'm walking into the woods in the middle of nowhere with someone I've known for like two days." Myah said. 

I laughed. "I promise I won't hurt you, Myah." 

When we entered the woods, I found a stump for her to sit on.  

Promise me you won't freak out, scream or run from me, Myah. 

"I can promise you I will TRY not to freak out, scream or run from you, Lawrence," Myah said. 

 "That's better than nothing," I say and begin to step out of my shorts.

"Whoaaa!! Lawrence, what are you doing."  Myah screamed 

Laughing, I tell her I can't change in my wolf clothes. They will get shredded. Cover your eyes if you wish. You can peak a little if you want to. I say with a smirk.

I began changing since this is not my first time; it only takes a  matter of seconds.  After I change, I walk over to Myah and nuzzle her. She still has her head turned away. 

When she turns to look at me, she sees a large dark brown wolf with black eyes. There is a light patch of fur on my right shoulder. 

She doesn't look scared. My heartbeat quickens. MATE!!  Loki yells. We still don't want to scare her, Loki. We have to take things slow. 

She begins to run her hands through my coat. She stops at one point, and I take my nose and nudge her to continue. It feels so good. Loki lets a low growl in gratification.  

Myah states,  "This is so weird. I always knew I was different, but now maybe I won't be alone."

 My wolf whimpers wanting to tell her she'll never be alone.  I can't communicate with her in wolf form until after we have mated or she joins the pack.  I walk back to where I laid my clothes and shifted again.  She quickly turned her head so she didn't see me naked. I love how innocent she is.

After I got dressed, I quickly walked back towards Myah.  When I reached her, I grabbed her into a big hug, her legs no longer touching the floor. I leaned down into the crook of her neck, smelling the scent of shea and vanilla.  When I set her back down, I looked her in the eyes. "Myah, I promise you will never be alone again. I will never leave your side."
