Keira’s P.O.V.

I was really furious with Arthur this time. It was a trap set by Drako to make me come out of my hiding. He knew something about me and Francesco and he set Victor as bait to make me come out. Though the situation between Victor and Francesco was not of my concern, I was not willing to go there. But…. I went…. I had to… because Francesco lured him by my name and he took the bait. How could he be the chief of the agency if he doesn’t think rationally?

I was hell angry with him. I knew that the people were following us. They already knew that I flew from the scene with one of them. As Arthur and Francesco had almost the same physique, I was sure that they mistook Arthur as Francesco and Francesco took the advantage of this situation. I wanted to kill him first with my bare hand.

“Are you crazy?” I yelled at Arthur while driving the bike. I knew that he could listen to me as there was a sound system inside the helmet. “Yes.. I am crazy”, he yelled in the same tone. I was about to say something when I heard him saying something else. “Crazy for you”, he murmured and I shook my head in annoyance. “Yeah… yeah.. I can see”, I scoffed.

“I want to talk to you”, he yelled again and I groaned in frustration. “There is nothing to talk about, Arthur. You should understand this”, I tried to convince him again. “You are wrong, Keira…. Everything is here that we need to talk about”, he said and I didn’t know why he was so stubborn. I looked in the mirror and rolled my eyes. “Hold me tighter”, I said to him and I could feel his hands around my waist.

I concentrated on the driving and sped up. I needed to get rid of that car that was following me since we left that building where Victor took them. I decided to have a nice chat with Arthur today. I randomly ran the bike on the road and then I got a way to get rid of them.

We were going out of the city right now. I knew about a ridge area at the outskirt of the city and it was secluded. That was a safe place to stop with him. I drove towards that place and then stopped the bike. He got off the bike and removed the helmet. I knew that I had to remove my helmet too if I want to talk but I couldn’t. I already had a mask on my face.

I removed the helmet and he narrowed his eyes on me. “Why did you have this mask on your face?” he asked me suspiciously. “You know the reason very well, Arthur”, I looked in the other direction, and at the same time, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him with such a force that I almost landed on his chest.

“Ouch”, I hissed in pain because my nose hit his chest hard. He had toned his body in all these years. I looked up and sighed while rubbing my nose. He had wrapped his hands around my waist now. I pushed him hard and freed myself from his embrace in anger.

“Are you really this much crazy, Arthur? You know what you did today, huh?” I shot daggers on him and I could say that he was fuming in anger too. “You took his bait and went with him there for what?” I yelled at him while looking straight into his eyes. “I shouldn’t be there today because it was a trap… you listened to me… that was a trap for me by Drako and you placed yourself as a bait for me”, I yelled again while breathing heavily in angry.

“Yes..”, I looked at in disbelief when he said this word. “Yes … I am crazy… I am crazy because my best friend left me without any reason. She left me because she thought that she could handle everything by herself. She…. She even didn’t bother to give me some time to prepare myself for this preparation. If you think that it’s related to being crazy …. Then …. Yes… yes, I am crazy”, he almost screamed in the end while taking a big step towards me.

We both were standing in front of each other while looking straight into each other’s eyes. We both remained silent for a while. We both were fuming in anger and were breathing heavily. Suddenly he again grabbed me and pulled me towards him. Now my hand was on his chest and he tightened his grip around my waist. “Seven years…. It took me seven years to make you have this talk with me, Keira. Don’t you think it’s not fair with me?” he complained in a low voice this time while looking straight into my eyes.

I lowered my eyes but didn’t try to move from his embrace. The place where we were standing right now was in between thick trees and was completely hidden due to the thick shrubs and herbs around these trees making a canopy. It was almost evening and I knew that soon the whole area would cover into the darkness. I needed to finish this conversation very soon.

“Among all of us, I am the one who was with you since the day you entered the academy. If we minus those 5 years, I was the one who spent the time with you the most. You were the first friend of mine apart of them. You are the first and only girl whom I took care of in my life”, he put one of his hands on my neck and stroked my jawline gently while pouring out his pain on me.

I still had lowered my gaze. I knew that every word that he was saying right now was true. “I smiled with you, I cried with you, I felt your pain here”, he put my hand on his heart and I closed my eyes. He couldn’t see the pain on my face due to my mask. He was choked on his voice right now. His heart was beating so fast right now like mine.

“I…. I know why you left all of us behind. I… I… (he sighed and looked up towards the sky. My hand was still on his chest and the other was on his waist)…. I don’t know about Ryder… I don’t know about Tom… but I know about me. I …. I… never expect anything in return from you … but don’t you think that it was unfair with me that you left me just like that, huh?” the pain in his voice was killing me now. It didn’t matter what I was for the rest of the world but for him… I was still that timid and weak girl that entered the academy 17 years ago.

“Was our relationship so weak that it in an instant just like that, huh?” he again questioned me. My vision was blurred now. “You know this very well that I was never far away from you, right?” I whispered and he scoffed. “Yeah… you left us but you never leave us. You have information of every second of our life but what about me?” his hold on my hand over his heart tightened a little. I was still looking downwards like a culprit.

“I will be back soon, Arthur. I am tired now”, the tears dropped from my eyes and I instantly hugged him tightly. It felt like I am home. He instantly held me tightly in his embrace and this was enough for me. I burst out in the cry that I was weighing on my chest for so long. I was alone and scared. I was in pain and I wanted him to be with me to comfort me. I wanted him to be with me to make me feel safe as he did during our training.

He didn’t say anything and let me cry for I didn’t know how much time. It was dark enough to leave this place now. “Come back to me, Keira. I need you”, he whispered to me and tightened my grip on his neck while hiding my face in his chest.

“Give me some times more, Arthur. I promise… I will be back to you as soon as I get rid of Drako. Till then.. promise me that you will not anything reckless like what you did today”, I said to him still hiding my face in his chest.

“No… I am not going to promise anything like this. I will chase you until you come back, Keira. Your family needs you… your friends need you… I need you”, he rubbed my back gently this time and for the first time in these seven years, I was reluctant to leave him now. But I knew that I had to. I needed to make sure of his safety.

I pressed my ring and instantly his body went limp in my embrace. I instantly held him tightly from his waist and lay him down on the ground safely. I stroked his face gently. “I promise that I will come back this time for not going anywhere again. Please trust me one more time”, I pleaded to him. I heard the footsteps behind me and I sighed. I didn’t look back because I knew who was behind me.

“Take care of him, please. He will be mad at me again when he will wake up”, I said to him and he said okay to me. I stood up and took the helmets from the ground and looked back at him before riding the bike again. I put the helmet on and then drove away from that place. I knew that he would wake up tomorrow morning.

I straight went to my apartment and threw myself on the couch while looking towards the roof. “Is he safe now”, I looked in his direction. He was coming out of the kitchen with two mugs of coffee in his hand and I instantly sent a murderous gaze to him. “You are dead”, I said to him and he smirked.
