Chapter 3: Rogue Attack

941 Words
Wyatt POV I've been trying to get a hold of my cousin but he wasn't responding back to me. It made me nervous, as my pace picked up. I managed to get my best friend Chase to come with me. He was reluctant at first, but when I told him his sister was out there and that she was mine and Noah's mate he ran out of his house already in his wolf form. His dark brown wolf was nearly as big as mine and Noah's. But being half Alpha half Beta thanks to my mom and dad I was bigger than he was. My mother being Alpha Dan's younger sister helped my genes, but my dad being full Beta gave me my position as the future Beta of this pack, and my cousin the future Alpha. Running along the stream with Chase right beside me we both began growling as as we seen Noah taking on at least 12 maybe 15 rouges. As one was coming up behind him I launched and ripped him to the ground. He tried fighting me off, but I stood just as quickly as I landed on him and my jaws locked around his throat. I shook my head violently, his blood smearing in my dark grey and black fur. "Chase, look for Clara. I will help Noah!" I quickly told Chase as I ripped the throat from the enemy under me, dropping him, I turned quickly when I caught that familiar scent of vanilla, the only difference is I smelled blood mixed in it. "Clara? Where are you?" I screamed through the link but I got no response from her. I ran in the direction her scent was leading me towards. I took down 4 rouges in my race to her. The smell of her blood was getting stronger. Coming to a stop I came across one of her shoes covered in blood and- sniffing the shoe again to make sure I wasn't imagining it, a growl escaped me. "They have wolfsbane, and I can't find Clara!" I told Noah, Chase and the other 3 pack members with us. Still following her scent, I walked into a clearing. I spotted her laying on the ground, her head, shoulder and left leg were bleeding. Her face was pale and her eyes were closed. Rushing over to her the smell of the poison got stronger and so did her blood. I shifted back to my human form and placed my head on her chest to see if she still had a heartbeat. Thankfully she did but it was faint. "Noah, get to the clearing NOW!" I boomed into the link. "Clara, come on wake up," I begged as I tapped her face lightly. "Come on let me see those beautiful green eyes of yours." "Wyatt where are you?" My cousin yelled, "Over here she isn't responding." I put my hands on the sides of her face and leaned down, I placed my forehead against hers pleading with her to wake up. I moved my head down and put it against her chest once again, only this time I didn't hear anything. "No, no, no," "Wyatt?" My cousin yelled, I put my hands on the center of her chest and began chest compressions. I began counting as I did them. I looked up when I seen Noah slide in on her other side. "Her heart stopped." "You do the compressions and I'll give her mouth to mouth," Noah said. I nodded and once I hit 20 I stopped, he leaned down and gave her two big puffs of air. Once he was finished I began again, the moment I hit 9 I heard her ribs break. Atleast I know I'm doing it right, I thought to myself. "I think they gave her wolfsbane." I heard Noah mutter as he tilted her head to the side. I seen a small purple bruise on her neck. Did they give it to her in liquid form? "That's not good if they gave her liquid wolfsbane, we need to get her back to the pack doctor so they can get it out of her." I said and went to stop, but Noah shook his head, "Don't stop you're the only one keeping her heart pumping. I will tell the doctors and her parents to come here, she needs blood too." "I'm a universal donor, you can use me when the doctor gets here." I heard a male behind me exclaim. Looking over my shoulder I see it's Micah our Delta of our age range. Returning back to the task at hand I continued pumping what little bit of blood she had in her body to her heart. About 20 minutes later I could hear people rushing around behind me, I stopped suddenly when I heard a groan come from her. I leaned down and placed my head on her chest I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard the faint thumping of her heart. I seen her eyes try to flutter open but failed. Clara lifted her arm on the other side of her that Noah was on, and he clutched it in his hand while I grabbed the one on my side. Those Sparks were a relief to me, it meant she was still holding on. "I shouldn't have ran." I heard her whisper. "I'm sorry, I r-rejected you." she said softly as her grip in my hand loosened and my heart skipped a beat. "No Clara, don't give up. I'm here, it's okay I'm not mad at you." I said as I pleaded with her to stay awake.
