Soup is Good Food
Once upon a time, I got hired to work this big party at a country club. I was supposed to circulate with a tray of champagne. That was a good way to get grabbed, as it turned out. So I set my tray on a little table, and I stood around, trying to blend into the curtains. The hardest part of the job, from that point, was tuning out the innocuous conversations going on around me.
This one old dude was telling a fancy-looking lady a story about how he and his pals would golf every morning, then have lunch in the restaurant.
