Chapter 1 - She's Such A...
*Georgina's POV* --- "Beth, why is Gina scowling again?" Ruby asked my other best friend who is busy munching her potato fries. "Seriously, Rue? Mmmm. Do you mmm... still have to ask mmme?" She answered without lifting her head to look at Ruby who just arrived with a tray of food in her hands. "Why? Does she got the second-highest score on her long examination, again?" Rue asked while taking a seat in front of me. Why do these people answer each other's questions with questions about me? "Maybe? Or maybe because Nat Porter got the highest score, again?" Beth answered with a question again, and I really want to smack her head right now. That's freaking the same. And, by the mention of that b***h's name, I inhaled deeply to control my anger. She might be smart, but she's just smart. Ugh, damn it! Why does she have to be in the same class as me? I should have asked the registrar to put me in the other section. But it's too late to fix everything since the first quarter is about to end. "Oh, okay. Well, it's alright, Gin. It's just the first quarter of the school year. You can still surpass her in the next couple... You know... Months. Or next... quarter. Or ---" Rue told me with an attempt to comfort me but I cut her off. "Or maybe you could just shut up for the meantime. That could make me feel better." I let out with my bitchiness on a higher intensity. Not to be mean with my best friends but I really don't wanna hear about academics shits right now. Especially, if it includes the name of that girl. "Whoops, I guess somebody's not in a good mood," Ken spoke as she sat down beside me. I just took a sip of my bottled water to repress my irritation. "Just don't ask her anything, Kendra. That could make her feel better." Beth uttered and reached for Rue's unopened pack of corn chips. It's actually good that they know when to stop saying things that could annoy me. "Hands off, Bethany! Give me three bucks first." Ruby stated and snatched the junk food from the girl. "That's only worth one and a quarter dollar, Rue. That's overpricing." Ken butted in in the nut-heads' rubbish conversation. Then, a smile crept on my face as I saw my friends bickering over a corn chip. They can sometimes be a pain in my ass, but they never fail to make me feel better when I am upset. "Hey, will you freaking stop ganging up on my girl?" Paul came in view with his two minions behind him. Then, they took their seat on the table beside us, and Paul went near me to ruffle my nicely curled hair. Such an asshole. "Hi, Cous! R'you feelin' good now?" He asked me and he leans to kiss Ruby on the forehead. "Don't dare f*****g ask her anything, Pauly!" Beth warned him and his eyes went wide in shock. Of course, he knew why I am not feeling happy right now. We are in the same class, and I really wish that I am in the same class as the rest of the girls. "Oh, okay. My mouth's shut." He replied while raising both hands. "But seriously, Gin. It's just one point. You can surely get it perfect next---" My glorious jerk of a cousin continued and was cut off by my raging girl friends immediately. "PAUL!!!" --- "Girls, is our night out still up tomorrow?" Ken asked while putting on some pink lipstick as she pouts her lips to the mirror. "Yeah, why not?" Rue replied while jamming the almost empty hand soap bottle. "Where'd you wanna go tomorrow?" Beth asked and looked at my reflection in the mirror. "Anywhere fun," I replied shortly and kept my mascara in my purse. Tomorrow is Friday and it's the first weekend of the month and next week is our quarterly exam. Damn, I really need to f*****g study harder. Well, I am not actually a nerd but I just want, no, I need to graduate with high honors, or else, goodbye college for me. "What about we crash the club where Paul is having a gig with his crew?" Rue suggested and I don't think it is a good idea to get drunk while our exams are fast approaching. "That sounds fun. It’s a go for me." Ken agreed and Beth looked at me like asking for my opinion. I just shrugged and she smiled widely. Even if we are still underaged and it's kinda illegal to be in a place like that, I know that we are safe since it's Kendra's brother's establishment. And, Paul works there part-time as a DJ with his friends. "Alright, Burkinson's it is." Beth declared and grabbed her purse on the counter. --- When we are finished with our stuff here, and about to go out of the restroom, I told them to go ahead. I just need to do something very important. "Where did I...? s**t! I hope I have not left it in my car." I mumbled as I open every pocket of my bag in search of the case of the stupid contact lenses that Dad gave me this morning. It's time to dispose of these old ones since it's already been a month. f**k this vision! Yes, I have a freaking blurry sight and none of the girls is aware of it. I just don't want to feel too much imperfect. I slowly placed the new lens on my left eye when the door of the farthest cubicle suddenly slammed open. Oh, s**t! "No wonder why some people are not doing real good in class, especially when they want to be on top, but still prioritizes leisure." She let out with her usual annoying bitchy voice as she turned the faucet on. So, she has been listening to... No, eavesdropping in our conversation. "You know what? It's f*****g out of your freaking business, Porter. I don't wanna be like some other people whose priorities are for the boring good grades and perish without doing the joy of being a teenager. Do you know what I mean? YOLO." I spat at her and she just snickered. "Yeah, I'm not so dumb to get what you mean. But what I mean is... I can do both without trying too hard." She stated and smirked like a stroked hyena. Gosh, I really hate her. Did I mention already that her voice is so damn annoying? I scoffed and bit my lower lip to restrain myself from holding her head and smash it in the sink in front of us. Relax, Gin, relax. Damn, what should I say next? "Well, good for you. Now, I wonder why your exes dumped you if you do fun, though..." I countered but she cut me off. I really need to find something sharp to say because that's what we've been doing since middle school. "Me? Dumped?" She asked while pointing herself and laughed like a mad girl. "You don't know the whole fudging story, Ms. Barbie Doll. So, shut your pink soft lips up, will you?" She continued and I sensed some kind of irritation in her voice. Great! "Woah, I feel threatened. Just so you know, I'm not trying too hard to be on top. But what could the Ms. Flawless Ginger b***h do if one day I can put her beneath me?" I countered with venom in my voice and slowly grabbed the case of my contact lenses on the counter. I just hope that she did not see it. "Well, I can't wait for it to happen. Just make sure that it's the 'beneath' that is in my mind right now." She stated while smirking and winked at me before walking to the door. And, my eyebrows met out of confusion from her statement. What 'beneath' is she thinking exactly? Geez, this girl is weird. Or is she fli... Nope. I think not. "And... oh, not so perfect, are we?" She added and turned her head back to me while eyeing the thing in my hand. f**k, she saw it. I just rolled my eyes at her and faced the mirror. "Well, that's new. I never imagined you in eyeglasses. And, I bet that hits different if..." She uttered with a hint of excitement in her voice. She's not gonna spill it, isn't she? I really should get rid of her. Damn, why do I think so viciously? Will she just go? "Could you just mind your freaking business and stop being so nosy?" I told her angrily and she seemed stunned. "Woah, easy there, tiger! Did I say something? I don't remember saying something offensive." She protested while acting naive. This girl is such a prick if she'll do that. If that happens, then, I will be the first to be the reason for her first detention. That seems great. "Just f**k off." I let out and walked past her. "What did I say?" I heard her mumbled before I closed the door, and then, I made my way to my locker. She's such a damn b***h. --- "What took you so long, Gin? We started to think that the toilet swallowed you alive." Beth greeted me and I rolled my eyes at her playfully. "No, it's just Beth who has thought of that, Gin. We are waiting perfectly fine." Rue said and showed her cheeky smile while my cousin's arm is around her shoulders. Of course, waiting is so fine for her. Well, I can not tell them that I got one hot session with my nemesis. No, not that hot hot but, umm, well, just a scene. It's definitely not in my mind. I absolutely hate her and she feels the same way. "I'm just not feeling well. My---" I stated but Beth cut me off. Can this friend of mine say something nicer? "We should go to the clinic! We can ask for medicine for---" She started but I cut her off before she can say something else. "I'm not having a freaking D, Bethany. Just get it together. Geez. Let's just go to our classrooms." I told her and that shut her off. Damn, the mind of this girl. Then, the rest of them held their laughter and followed me. --- The day ended with nothing much happened. It's just that our class will have a damn group performance for our Literature class requirement. And, for my lucky day, I will not be competing with Natalie Porter. We'll just work as a group, which is worse. Fuck that teacher who decided if who will be with whom. But I'm still fortunate that Paul is in our group. And thankfully, we are not doing Romeo and Juliet. "I'm wishing you a very enormous good luck, Gin. And I'm hopeful that there would be no blood to shed while you're doing rehearsals of your play-performance whatever. And, Paul, you know what to do in case of an emergency. You can always call 911." Beth let out and I just laughed at her. I don't know why they feel so nervous about me and that ginger b***h working together. "Well, I have one thing I'm sure about that. It's gonna be a clash of brains and beauty." Ken uttered and Ruby nudged her. "They are not doing a beauty pageant, Ken. They are gonna be acting, writing, and directing." She said and she's right. "Uh, well, that will turn out great, maybe. But, just don't kill her by yourself, Gin. You can always call for backup before doing the job." Ken stated, then, winked. I just let out a sigh since I am so done with these people. "Well, it'll finally be a perfect time that I will pull her down. I'll go easy on her first, but if things get harder... Then, I'll ask for some reinforcement." I said with a little bit of evil in my voice, and their faces turned to something optimistic. "Why does it sound so s****l to me?" Paul let out and my eyes widened in shock. I slowly turned my head to him and shot him a death glare. "I think you need to run, Pauly," Beth said and he raised both hands. "I'm just sayin'. Don't get it wrong, Cous. I'm just kidding. It's just that if you get the other meaning of your words, it's umm... kinda, you know..." He reasoned out frantically. I know he wouldn't want to get on my nerves. He just knows me so well. "Why the f**k would you get the other meanings of the words I'm saying? You are such a perv, Paulo." I exclaimed and he looked remorseful. "Yeah, why, Paul?" Ken seconded and he just smiled like a Cheshire cat. "Nevermind. So, are we still going to Burkinson's tomorrow night?" I spoke and asked them. Damn, I kind of have a bad feeling about the plan in going to the club, especially that Nat Porter heard about it. I just don't know if what's going on in her head. Maybe she could tape us and report to the guidance counselor. Damn, it's a low-key move but that's the worst. "Yeah. Your bro will let us in, right, Ken?" Beth replied and asked the girl. "Always." She answered, and alright, I guess we just have to wear a bit of a disguise or whatever to be safe.
