"Sorry about that Hon," Tera returns, placing her hoops back on and Fixing her blouse. She breaks me out of my trance, and I raise an eyebrow as I notice smudged lipstick on her face.
She clears her throat, and tries to look normal. I continue to stare at her.
"What?" She pauses, looking back at me. Her hand immediately flies to her lips and I smirk.
"You got that right."
She rolls her eyes, "shut up."
"West coast is here," I tell her, redirecting my attention and she whistles, "right?"
"Girl . . . They are fine."
"Exactly that," I nod, still staring at him.
"It's a pity, I'm practically married."
"That is a shame, fortunately for me though . . ." I let my words trail and she catches my drift.
"Oo, okay gurl, I see you," we were both staring at the tall chocolate man that leaned on his car. Men from the house jogged over to him, dapping him up and conversing. He smiled here and there, his teeth was pearly white, no grills, which was strange for these hood niggas. Any chance they got, the laced their teeth with gold.
I found it even more attractive that he didn't.
He was dressed simply in a Moncler sweatsuit, black And grey Nike Air Max 97 danced on his feet.
"Don't get caught drooling now," Tera teased and I roll my eyes, turning away to take a deep breath, "oh naw, don't tell me you nervous,"
"Stop, I'm not."
"Oh no," she blocks her mouth dramatically, "has Queen Bee met her match."
Of course Tera was going to tease me. Enticing men was easy. Scamming them out of their money with a face and body like this was even easier. And seducing them was the easiest.
I never broke a sweat.
But they were all pathetic to me. Well, except for Clay, he was a sweetheart.
This man though, he was far from pathetic, he was confident and not in an overbearing, boastful way. He knew that everyone knew who he was, well with the exception of me, so he didn't have to do much. His waves looked so silky, his skin was . . . Flawless, that much I could see from under the street lights.
"The man you are looking at right now, his name is Romano Easton. West side's hottest drug dealer, gang banger, whatever he was."
Tera and I both turn our heads to another female who was practically drooling over him.
"Well, If Romano didn't know he was fine before, he surely knows it now."
I quickly realized that I had competition tonight, all the women here had their eyes on him.
For the first time, anxiety coursed through me, and I quietly wondered how I would approach him.
As if feeling my hard stare, he finally looks up. I'm caught off guard at first, and struggled to keep eye contact.
"Oo, girl," Tera grins.
"Oop." The girl next to us says and I avert my eyes. I felt like I could breathe again, and ran a hand through my wig.
"Let's get back inside," I tell Tera. I needed some water because it was getting hot out here.
By the time we re-entered, 'Molly by Foogiano' started playing, and we all knew this song, so we automatically got turnt. Tera and I had grabbed our drinks from the kitchen which was now filled, and we were back in the living room.
Tera and I danced recklessly, throwing gang signs, bending here and there, all while I tipped the bottle of water into my mouth.
By the time the song was over, Joan played another hit by 'Sheff G' called 'We getting money'.
More and more people joined the 'dance floor' and it was beginning to get crowded. I felt sweaty and hot, so I decided to freshen up in the bathroom. Tera was busy grinding on Western, so I just whispered in her ear what I was about to do and she nodded. But never before asking me if I needed her to come.
She was enjoying herself, so I declined.
I breathe a sigh of relief once I reach the top of the stairs. I could finally breath cool, fresh air.
I found the bathroom that I've been in surely more than 10 times, and quickly glanced in the mirror.
"You look good," I nod at myself, turning around to stare at my ass and low and behold . . . It was still there.
Ha!
I chuckle to myself before grabbing some wipes from my bag and dabbing my armpits.
"Ugh," I wrinkle my noise at the moist, cold sensation, and quickly dispose the wipes in the bin. I wish I could jump out the window or something, it was really hot out there.
Nevertheless, I sprayed myself again with some perfume and headed outside. Once down the stairs and in the living room, I decided not to join the drunk, high, sweaty, crowd again. I went outside to see if I saw Mr. Romano again, but he wasn't there.
His car was still here though, but maybe he was inside.
I stay outside for a while longer, enjoying the feeling of the cool breeze on my skin.
Footsteps echo besides me, and I prepare myself to suck my teeth and tell a man to get the hell away from me. But my tongue got caug in my throat as Romano stood next to me.
He gazed down at me, a calm, alluring look on his face. He wasn't smiling, yet he wasn't frowning. He just looked . . . Nonchalant.
He didn't say a word, just stood next to me, staring.
I awkwardly clear my throat, rocking back in my heels.
"Hi," I speak first, "I'm Honey," I extend my hand, my heart echoing in my chest.
He raises an eyebrow, his lips lifting a bit in a smirk to reveal his pretty teeth up close. He slowly took my hand, his large palms covering mine.
"Romano."
Oh my . .
His voice was raw and smoky. He spoke low, but just loud enough for me to hear. I ignore the sensations that flowed through me freely, and determined that I would no doubt have him in my bed tonight.
"It's nice to meet you," I reply, revealing my signature smile as he releases my hand.
"Likewise."
He was quiet again, still staring at me.
"So you're Honey huh? Is it true what you do?"
"What I do?"
"Your . . . Occupation."
I knitted my eyebrows. Dang, he knew already?
"Who told you?" I ask him curiously, not that it mattered, he would've found out later tonight anyway.
"One of the women I spoke too not too long ago, she saw me staring you down and uh . . . Well, I guess she wanted to one up you."
I resisted the urge to suck my teeth and roll my eyes. Instead I shrugged.
"It's a battle field out here," I averted my eyes, tipping the now warm water into my mouth, simply because I didn't know what else to do.
"I don't judge though mamas, in fact . . ."
My ears perked up.
I felt a bit disappointed that he turned out to be one of those guys, I thought that there would be more to him. But couldn't get caught up, I had one job.
I turn to look at him, a hand on my hip.
I raise a seductive eyebrow, waiting for the end of his sentence.
"I'd like to patronize," he slowly smiles as I grin.
"Your wish is my command, Romano."
I take his hand, ready to lead but he flips it over so that he was holding me instead.
"Not here," he says, he nods towards his car and I glance at the party then back at him.
I normally don't let them choose the place, I don't get in their car either, but I was gonna be a dumb b***h and do it tonight.
"Okay, hold on."
I took out my phone and texted Tera that I was leaving with the man of my dreams, then turned back to him.
He was as usual, still staring at me.
"Let's go."
