Chapter 6“So…past loves.” We had both ordered the fried halibut and chips and got a couple of beers. We’d chosen to eat out on the restaurant’s patio. A couple of gulls and many smaller sparrows eyed us hungrily, but we did our best to ignore them. “I figured I’d dodged that one.” Arthur laughed. “Did you want to?” I shook my head. “I don’t really have any exciting stories to tell. I’ve had boyfriends, sure, but never anything that serious. I’ve never gotten to the point I wanted to ask anyone to share their life with me.” I grimaced. “Nor has anyone really gotten that way with me. Sounds kinda sad now that you mention it.” “No, not at all. You’re still young, Damian. Or since I’m the same age as you, I’d like to think so.” He grinned. “Plus you have a full-time stressful job that pro
