Hazel's POV
I was terrified. My eyes were shut. I couldn't bring myself to look at him since it was clear that he was about to bite into my neck.
When I didn't feel any pain, I tentatively opened my eyes to see him staring at my face. His hair had come forward and covered his forehead while his arms were beside me, holding him up.
When did he move?
“You look so beautiful when you're scared,” he grinned. My heart did a backflip as I saw his beautiful grin. It made his face brighten up and his eyes twinkled in mirth.
“I'm not scared,” I lied, not wanting to be seen as a prey. Vampires loved to hunt. I didn't want to be seen as one of his toys.
