Hazel's POV “I can't,” I replied after a long silence. The two words felt like rock on my lips, it was too heavy for me to say yet I had to force myself to say it. “Why?” He demanded. “You've been running from me. I care about you a lot, Hazel. Why won't you open your heart to me?” I bit my lips, unable to tell him the truth. Would he look at me differently if he finds out? I looked into his eyes. “You're not going to speak, are you?” I shook my head. “Then you're free to leave. You can go back to being a normal maid if you hate staying close to me too,” he said, looking at me with anger in his eyes. My face fell but I nodded and left the room. There was no need prolonging this. My affections for him would do me no good. We are not meant to be together, especially not after what
