Lucian's POV
Edith had tears pouring out of her eyes as she stared at me with a loving gaze.
“But you promised to stay by my side forever, Lucian,” she whispered with a croaky voice.
It was hard for me to watch her cry and look so helpless yet I couldn't bring myself to console her. My heart was elsewhere too and I was suffering for my mistake.
Sighing, I sat on the bed in my room. “I understand how you feel but there is nothing that can be done anymore.”
“That's a lie!” She hissed, making me tilt my head to the side.
