CHAPTER FIFTEEN The ride back home was quiet and awkward. I told James about my decision to quit working for Rubberman. I expected him to be happy about that, but to my surprise, he actually looked almost as disappointed as I felt. Maybe he realized how unhappy I was about this and so knew better than to gloat about it to me.
