Chapter 6We left for the caves after most of the one-nighters had checked out. This wasn’t a kind of establishment that served breakfast, so most people did not linger after they got their machine coffee or cocoa from down the hall and returned their key. I had barely slept, my nerves jangled with buzzing excitement I could also feel through Jeremy, who had also not slept. We’d spent our necessary time entangled in Patricia Morse’s former room, then shut it up tight and headed back to the front foyer. No one had wanted a room while we were gone, and probably wouldn’t for the rest of the night, but I still had to man my post.
