Julian was up early the next morning to head for New York. He hoped his trip would be uneventful. Pulling into the apartment’s underground parking garage he was surprised to see a car parked in his space. After all his name was still on the lease, at least until the end of the month when renewal for the apartment was due. Dismissing it as someone taking the opportunity to find a place to park in a city where parking spaces were at a premium, he pulled into one of the vacant guest spaces. He reached into the glove box to retrieve the guest permit, which he always carried with him for instances like this. He placed it on the dashboard and got out of his car.
