My short reprieve is over. I spent a week in Pasadena and it's time to go back and have a much needed talk with my friend. It's six am on Sunday morning and I feel sad leaving Maddy, but her and Roger need to get back to their lives. "Anytime you want to come stay with us, you are more than welcome, Stella." Roger assures me and gives me a hug. "Make sure you call me at least once a week! I know we lost touch, busy living our own lives, but you're still my little girl Stella." Maddy coos while hugging me and squeezing me tight. "Thank you so much, both of you. I don't know what I would have done.." My voice breaks and tears start running down my cheeks.
