Ashley hadn't been unconscious for long. Even before they reached the hospital, she began to regain consciousness, feeling herself in the warm embrace of someone's arms, likely in a car.
The ride was smooth, with occasional stops at traffic lights.
She fully opened her eyes and rubbed the sore spot on her forehead.
"Ashley?" Percy noticed her movements and quickly leaned down to check on her.
Ashley looked up and was surprised to see Percy's gaunt face.
She stared at him in confusion. How could it be him?
Ashley struggled to sit up and said hoarsely, "Percy..."
She knew she had passed out after her bike had slipped and thrown her away, but why did she end up in Percy's car?
Had he just happened to pass by when she fell off her bike and decided to help her?
