Ashley's visit to her grandmother's grave in Green-Wood Cemetery was under duress. She battled stomach pains. As she left, the heavens opened up, but she lucked out catching a bus. Nestled against the window, she endured her discomfort and felt drowsy. Unexpectedly, an accident happened on the way. A portion of the Brooklyn Bridge had given way, and they might not be able to get away for a while. Watching the traffic grow, Ashley dialed Gabriel. "What's up?" Gabriel sounded chipper. "You at City Hall?" With a twinge of guilt, Ashley fumbled, "Uh, not exactly. I can't go there today... Maybe tomorrow? I'll definitely be there tomorrow! I'm stuck on the Brooklyn side.
