Suddenly, Kaitlyn turned her head away. Her shoulders trembled slightly as if she were crying. "Gabriel, stop, please!"
Gabriel paused, his voice heavy with implication. "You should leave now. Please, Ashley!"
He didn't mean to stop Ashley from visiting, but given the circumstances, he believed her leaving would spare her further pain. Therefore, he had to let her go now and explain things later.
