Chapter 5 Alex transformed everything he touched. He and Etan shared that same shoebox apartment overlooking Lake Michigan, but the space no longer felt oppressive. Alex’s photos on the walls, his clothes in the wardrobe, his scent on the sheets turned the temporary shelter into a home both of them loved. A home they both knew they had to leave before three years passed.
