You kiss my cheek and then you slip out, mostly unnoticed. But not by me. You’re up to something. I think it’s about that note, although I can’t say for sure. You want me to tell you I wrote it, but the truth is, I can’t. And now we have this situation with the dead girl in the back of your trunk, and these people in our house, and I want to follow you but you and I both know that I can’t leave the party. You’ve trapped me this way; you’ve always been good at doing that. You say we don’t need friends or birthday parties, but you can’t very well pretend to be normal without the pretending part, Jude.
