For a man like Keikazu, dating is only a waste of time. His top priority is work and business alone.
The last time he dated was when he was a sophomore in University, he courted the most popular beauty of Stanford University for more than five months and when they finally became a couple they barely went past more than just holding hands, their kinship was nothing more than that and then before he knew it, they broke up.
K turned off the lights in the guest room after changing Hyde into a set of pajama that was always well-kept inside the cabinet intended for the guests to use.
He then charged to his own room and jumped straight to his shower, taking a very cold one at that.
"I must be insane" K muttered to himself as the cold water fell into his skin, making him shiver as if he'll freeze to death nonetheless, it woke him up, snapping him out of his own trance.
Earlier, what was that? What was he about to do? To his secretary? A guy?
Surely, he's gone crazy.
And every little crazy thing started because of that kiss, when his secretary was drunk.
When he finished showering, he put on his robe and dried his hair with the blow drier, trying to get the thought out of his head.
Finally, he tucked himself to the bed, closing his tired eyes to get some good night sleep.
Several minutes later, his eyes shut open while his mind is busy formulating different excuses upon the issue of how he gets utterly attracted to his secretary's snow white smooth skin and his rosy pink plump lips.
"Ah sht."
In the end, K tossed and turn in his bed, the tiredness he was feeling dispersed as different unrelated thoughts besides his work has taken over until he fell asleep, Hyde's the one and only certain main character of his dreams.
M O R N I N G
came. The busy honking of different cars passing by the road and the heavy steps of his neighbors are what Hyde usually wakes up to.
However, that is not the case this late morning. Hyde woke up with a throbbing head, as soon as he opened his eyes, an unfamiliar ceiling came into his view. He looked around, trying to scrutinize the place but came into a conclusion that he's not in his own room.
"Where am I?"
Hyde could barely remember what happened or how he ended up in a stranger's bed. All that he could recall is that.. last night, he drank some beer and..
"And?" His memory stopped there. "Is that all? Did I passed out after that?" How come he cannot remember what happened next?
"Ahh! My head hurts"
He stood up but fell back down to the bed, the piercing pain in his throbbing head makes him unable to think straight and because of thinking too hard trying to recollect what happened last night, it hurted more badly.
Hyde laid back down, curling up in position, waiting for the pain to subside.
Somehow, he's known how to deal with a hangover as he encountered one before. He remembered how he came home drunk after that dinner gathering they had then he woke up in daze the day after, his head was ringing because of having a hangover. The same thing as what's happening now was what happened before. Now that he's awake, he'll only have to wait for the pain to lessen and be much more tolerable.
While Hyde lie awake in bed, K who have a cup of coffee in his hands, walked inside the guest room to check on his secretary.
When he opened the door, he find him lying still but he noticed his left hand caressing his own forehead as if massaging it.
"You're awake?" He blurted out, walking closer next to the bed and peeking over at Hyde's face, checking if he's really awake.
"Sir?!"
That voice?
It can not be!
Hyde recognized the voice in a split second he heard it much to his own surprise.
It's not, right?
He opened his eyes and came locking gaze with Keikazu, his stoic boss, who doesn't care about the world and only minds his own business, literally.
Secretary Hyde jumped right out of the bed, he's startled to see his boss straight after the realization that he's in someone else's home. Turns out, he's in his boss's home!
"You- you're the one who brought me here.. sir?"
"Yeah." K answered, like it's a matter of fact. Then walked over to the table right next to the bed and leaned on it, bringing his cup of coffee to his lips, taking a sip.
He watched Hyde's adorable reactions with an amused grin under the cup of his coffee. "I found a cat going astray in the middle of the road, it was pitiful so I brought it home." He said and placed down his mug on the table.
What does his boss mean by that?
So, he's a pitiful cat K took pity on and brought home? For what?
Somehow, knowing that it's his boss's own home that he crashed into for the night made his head hurt more.
Everything's too much for Hyde to take in, the information he had today is hard to digest and even his head is not making it easier for him to comprehend the situation. His vision suddenly became hazy, he glanced at K but blinked his eyes when all he sees are blurred lines and then he lost control, staggering all of a sudden, tripping on his own feet.
"Careful"
K's low, deep sound uttering that word was like a certain music in Hyde's ears, the kind of song he listens to and it just make him feel good.
As K is watching Hyde by the side, he took notice how he moved unsteadily then he was right, Hyde is dizzy and almost fell, gladly he was on time and caught him. He assisted Hyde to sit on the bed.
"Rest until you regain your energy" He told his surprisingly child-like secretary, needing all the care and attention.
"You're quite the high maintenance, huh." K said not within earshot.
Hyde had his eyes closed, there's not only ringing in his head head but now, it's spinning as well. Even with his eyes close, he's as dizzy as if he just got off of a rollercoaster ride.
"Ugh. I'm never drinking 'til I drop again"
K heard what Hyde said and deep inside him, he's laughing in a boisterous way.
He cleared his throat and then spoke, "What made you drink anyway? I never knew you were the type who gets drunk then passed out cold in the street and in the first place, I thought you don't drink but I was wrong, secretary Hyde." K displayed an arrogant expression, showing the disappointment in his eyes.
Hyde quickly came up with an excuse, he almost forgot but Keikazu is known to have bad-temper and dislikes.. imperfect people.
Yet. Hyde looked at himself, scanning how he's been.
K took him in and cared for him enough to even change him into a pajama. Then now, he's not yelling nor had he told him to leave right after he woke up.
Hyde looked at K with pouty lips, appealing to him so as to let him off the hook for once, not lay him off of work.
The other guy looked at Hyde's gesture, he was supposed to be waiting for an answer to his question not be swayed by such cute action.
In the end, K chose not to dig any further, it's his secretary's private life anyways.
"I had your clothes in the drier, it must be fine by now, you can take a shower over that room there," he said, pointing at the room by the side, not so far away from the bed, "I'll get your clothes first."
K said in a quick manner, almost chewing his own words before walking out in a flash.
Hyde is left alone in the room, confused about his boss's reaction.
"I definitely need a cold shower." He said, finally feeling as if he's rejuvenated, he headed to the shower room.
______
"Here, eat your breakfast," K showed him all the food in the table. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, bread even fruits like strawberry and then milk that are nicely prepared but all in one proportions.
Hyde raised a curious eyebrow at K, he was about to ask if K had eaten but the latter spoke faster before he could.
"Also, here's a drink to cure your hangover, drink it before you eat" he placed a small bottle of what seemed to be the 'hangover' drink infront of him.
Somehow, seeing a different side to their known stoic boss is a refreshing sight. Most people knew K as an expressionless wealthy, strict and workaholic billionaire boss, he's regarded as someone who doesn't care for other things other than his business.
What other people don't know, is that K has that soft and cute side to him as well, maybe because it is buried deep down but the way he cares touches something in Hyde's heart. K feels warm at the very moment.
K got carried away because of some urge that reels him in with wanting to take care of Hyde. He couldn't help it especially after admitting to himself he's attracted to his secretary's charm. He gulped when he raise his head, they came eye to eye, snapping him of his reverie.
Then, he proceeded to turn around- it all played out in slow motion for Hyde- walking towards what seemed to be an office, but before he leave the room, K uttered something,
"Leave after that."
One minute he's nice then the next, is something Hyde couldn't guess.
