Robert immediately saw that a sentinel on the northeast corner of Westwind jumped up. He noticed some movement on the hillside, but he couldn’t see as far as Robert could. He had no idea four or five hundred wolves were hiding on the cliff, only thinking that there seemed to be something there.
This situation wasn't serious enough to sound an alarm bell, so the sentinel only shouted a few times. Robert couldn't hear it at such a distance, and he could only guess that he was shouting, "Help! Watch out..." or something like that.
