Megan knew that they would start calling her from home, and had to switch her phone off so that she would receive any calls from her mother or sister, Sophie.
Since her line was not going through, Luke's own was the next contact they called and he deliberately refused to answer the calls because Megan told him not to, and he also did not want to since he was not ready to answer questions.
