Chapter Nine

Emma Clifton l opened my eyes slowly, my body feeling like it had been hit by thousand time by a truck. I slowly tried to get up but I suddenly felt dizzy and fell back to bed, but a hand cushioned my head , preventing my head from hitting the headboard . Looking to my left, seeing Mesh really close by my side made my cheek hot. "Be careful, weesps are known to be mischievous but their spells are strong". he said softly and I nodded although I didn't understand a thing of what he just said. He chuckled to himself...damn..that sound "You probably didn't understand a thing of what I said". he said again and I blushed hard Geez what the hell is wrong with me. "Come downstairs after you've taken a shower, I'll fix something up for you". the lack of his absence made my body yearn for him. I watched him as he left the room with an unknown feeling in my heart. Geez the f**k is wrong with me? I should be freaking out that I spent the night in a stranger house but strangely I'm not. I somewhat feel like safe in his presence. I should probably ask him about what happened last night but I decided to follow his instructions first. I got off the king sized bed heading for the door opposite the bed. His bathroom... smells exactly like him. His whole room does. ***** Hesitantly I climbed down the stairs in Mesh's shirt. I couldn't wear my old cloth so I changed into his. Thanks to the fact that he's a lot taller than me, his shirt reach the middle of my thigh. Reaching down the stairs, Mesh was already waiting for me. His eyes swept my body, his gaze lingering on my thigh. With an awkward cough, I got his attention back to my eyes. "I couldn't find anything to wear so I wore this". "I'll go change it if you.. "No its OK. You look way better in the shirt than I do". he smiled genuinely, gesturing me to take his hand which I did. He led me to the dining where the food was already served. Bacon and egg "I really can't cook that much"his face flushed in embarrassment. I chuckled at how cute he looked. "No its OK. I prefer light breakfast anyway". I shrugged, taking a seat. We started eating and it was quiet for some time before I spoke up "Who were those guys from yesterday. They spoke like they know me but I don't recall meeting them". his face turned serious at my question like he was trying to find a suitable answer. "They are bad guys who want something from you". he said, after seemingly racking his brain. It felt like the truth but not completely the truth. "What do they want from me? Do you know them?". "Yes, I do know them. Its more deep than you think Emma, I'll find time to explain it all to you". his eyes which held mine made me trust him and I nodded. "I'll drive you home after breakfast". he added, breaking the spell. Oh that's right, home!! Gez Mum and Dad are gonna be so mad I didn't come back home last night. Oh geez, I'm gonna get grounded. ***** The drive back home was quiet and full of reluctance. I didn't want to leave him but I also wanted to go home. And his expression wasn't helping. When the car parked in front of the house, I was faced with the fact that I may never see him again. I mean, after I get down from this car, we'll literally be just strangers to each other. And strangely, I didn't want that to happen. As if he was thinking the same, he pulled me back when I was almost out of the car. I yelped in surprise by our sudden close proximity. I didn't have time to think when he closed the distance between us and his lips met mine.
