CHAPTER SEVENAll through the next two days Jacoba was aware that the Earl was watching her. He did not say anything. He accepted that she should look after him and did everything the doctor had ordered him to do. At the same time she had the uneasy feeling that he was like a tiger waiting to spring. ‘I shall have to leave,’ she thought despairingly at night when she was in her own room.
