Alice lured Max forward, the rest following behind them quietly.
Max asked them about Damian, and they said they wouldn't get into any more danger for a while. But they were going to force Matt to try and fix things, and it would be good for Max to spend some time with people who weren't them. They promised they would be right back.
Matt dropped him off at home, and to his surprise, Lyric and Claire were already there waiting for him.
Lyric didn’t say anything and instead wrapped his arms around Max.
“I’m so sorry, Max.”
Max nodded, pulling away. He let them into the house.
“Have they all gone?” Claire asked. “Your family, I mean?”
“Yeah. Helios had his tour. Atlas has his shooting for the movie and Selene had some runway shows to walk.”
