“Damian also said to keep an eye out, Reid might send someone to make sure Alec is dead,” Matt added in French as he stared at Max.
“What about we go to that food place you like so much?” Amber asked.
Max shook his head and forced a smile. “No. If you don’t mind, I think I’m going to get back into bed, I’m tired.”
No one said anything as Max returned to bed, leaving some space where Alec would sleep.
“He needs help,” Ani murmured in French.
“It’s only been a day, let him grieve,” Oliver replied.
“Alec wants us to tell him,” Matt added in French.
“No,” Alice snapped. “We don’t tell him. Do you know how ridiculous that would be? The whole reason he’s there is to keep him safe.”
“He wants to see Max. To let him know he’s alive.”
