Max sat up, trying to see what caused the outburst, and saw Damian leaving. A few seconds later, Matt followed and against his better judgement, he slipped out after them. He crept down the stairs and sat on one of the stars that would keep him hidden.
“-not this, Matt,” Damian said, running a hand over his face.
“Don’t you think it’s good timing?”
“It was him!”
“It wasn’t him,” Matt snapped. “She’s the only one who could have done it, she visited the other day.”
“To try and make up with you.”
Matt hesitated before he whispered. “Are you really choosing her?”
Damian sighed as he finally locked eyes with Matt. “Don’t make me choose between either of you.”
