As soon as I became aware that the envelope contained an engraved one, my entire body came to a complete and total halt. My hands were shaking so much because I had a sneaking hunch that it included some of my personal information inscribed on it. It was not clear to me whether or not I had been given the opportunity to learn about my parents or about my prior identity, which I had forgotten. I was unsure of either of these things.
