Chapter 14 Jack tugged his arm. “Come on, you’ll like this place.” Pad hesitated. The East-West expressway stood a block away, across the street stood a liquor store whose windows had metal bars. A mechanic’s shop fronted the other side, topped by barbed wire. Traffic passed behind him, but he came along, almost peer pressured to go out. “Pad. We haven’t been out just the three of us since you left for Saudi. Let’s do it for old times’ sake, okay?” Jen added. Pad looked around again. The nightclub he saw was a one-story building, bright neon lights outside illuminated the pink-colored building. Definitely gay. “Okay, let’s go in.” The doorman stopped them, checked their identification. His helper, a very thin blonde twink, helped fasten the wristbands on them but stopped Jack. “Hi,
