And educated, but not by traditional, pedestrian means like reading for ourselves. My mother Desdemona got impregnated by a scholar to spite my grandmother. I was the first dark Fae child of my generation, so they wondered what or who would come out. My grandmother hoped for a mini-her, a far cry from my mother with her rebellious ways, and so she planned to name me after herself. My mother convinced her that would be too confusing for the history books, so they called me Liliana instead.
