I woke with the sun pouring through the windows of my childhood room. The only thing that had changed was the size of the bed, which still had its four posts and a canopy of living vines with pink and yellow flowers, the ideal colors for a small Fae princess. I rolled to my side, wishing to wake from the nightmare that had become my life. Not the kind of nightmare with monsters. Oh, no, I could face those down.
