Chapter 9: Meet You Again

1334 Words
Oh gosh! I was late for school! Too late!!! I overslept!   That day was the first day of school. I hurriedly took the bag and immediately ran out of the house. The shuttle car's driver has repeatedly sounded the horn impatiently.   "Wait! Please wait for me!! I'm coming! Mom, Dad, I am going to school now!"   Brak! Bruum ...   My school shuttle car sped towards school. Because of my delay, we were almost late. However, fortunately, Pak Bagus, the driver, managed to get us to school on time. Thanks a lot, Sir ...   My schoolmates crowded around the bulletin boards. Everyone was busy searching for their names on the class list that was displayed on the board.   We were squeezed to each other. I tried to push myself into the crowd to see which classroom I entered. There were five science classrooms and six social classrooms. It turned out that grade 2-1 was a science class. I was in the classroom 2-1 list.   My school did have many classrooms. The first grade consisted of 12 classes.   The second grade consisted of 11 classes.   And for the last grade consisted of 10 classes.   Each class consisted of about 45-50 students. It was a lot, huh? The classroom position changed every year. So I have to find the location of my classroom through a new school classroom map.   "Michelle," a man's voice called out.   I turned my head. "Raymond? How come you're here?" I asked, surprised to find Raymond in my school.   "I'm here since the first grade. It turns out you are a student in the same school as mine. I never thought about this ever. What a coincidence! What class are you in? " he asked with a distinctive smile.   "Class 2-1 Science," I said. Come to think of it, and it turned out that Raymond and I have never asked about each other's schools.   It was no wonder that I didn't know that he was in the same school as me. Moreover, I couldn't remember that many students and get to know all the students who registered in the same school. It was almost impossible for me.   "Eh, class 2-1 science? Wow,  that's awesome, Michelle. That's the superclass for the smartest students who choose science majors. I entered class 2-2 science, next to your class exactly. Do you know where it is?" Raymond asked.   "No, I don't know! What a coincidence! Walk with me please to the class. It's almost time. Let's go quickly! The bell can ring anytime now. Hurry! We can't be late," I said, relieved.   "Alright. Come on, come along. Let's go together," Raymond said, waving his hand.   I arrived at class on time, before the homeroom teacher entered. I sat on the remaining bench, the front seat, next to the classroom entrance.   The bell had been ringing loudly since earlier. Most of the students in my class were already sitting in their respective places. I had no time to look left and right to see classmates that I knew. I sat down and prepared my stationery.   My homeroom teacher came to introduce myself.   This time, my homeroom teacher was Mrs. Dini, a Chemistry teacher. She was one of my favorite teachers. The way she delivered the lesson was friendly and easy to understand.   After the introduction was over, we went to the field for the ceremony. I stood in the front row. The headmaster lectured in a slow tone while the sun's heat was getting hotter, and beads of sweat dripped from all over my face. It was a natural sauna bath. It was tortured me.   I was relieved when the ceremony finally ended, and students were invited back to class. My head felt dizzy. With my face down, I hurriedly returned to my classroom. The homeroom teacher returned to the classroom too. She gave several announcements.   "Next, please share the list of books that must be purchased. I hope that next week all the necessary books are complete. Also, I will record your lesson schedule for a week on the blackboard. Please write it down for yourself. Also, starting tomorrow, your seats will be arranged according to the plan I have made. We will change the plan every month. The current plan is valid until next month," explained Mrs. Dini.   Soon the bell rang. The other kids scrambled to see the seating arrangement plan. I just stayed in my chair and took my lunch.   I didn't want to join other students squeezing each other to see the seating arrangement plan. I chose to see that later after everyone finished seeing that.   Anyway, I didn't mind to sit anywhere. I had no problem with my eyes. Well, I also didn't know many friends in this class. I was not familiar with them. So it didn't matter if I sat with anyone. All was stranger to me.   The class seating arrangement plan was used to invite complaints. Some of my classmates objected to the seating position. Some people preferred to sit in the back to chit chat during the lesson, and some others preferred to sit in the front because they needed to see the blackboard.   The seat exchange transaction took place so crowded amongst the students. Of course, this happened without the teacher's knowledge. They were looking for trouble if the homeroom teacher knew about this.    I was bored with them, who often casually moved the seats of other classmates for their interests. But I didn't want to bother. I just let them do as they wish. For me sitting anywhere was not a problem.   "Michelle, what do you eat?" Suddenly a greeting sound was heard.   Raymond entered my class. He glanced at my lunch with great interest.   "Beef floss bread. Do you want some, Mond? I can share," I asked, offering.   "Yes, with pleasure. I love it," Raymond said as he took a piece of bread and devoured it with pleasure.   "Eh, Raymond. Why did you come here? Wow, are you looking for your girl, huh?" exclaimed a guy from the back row.   My blood seemed to stop immediately. That voice again. Perhaps...   I glanced at Raymond. His laughter almost exploded. He desperately tried not to laugh. From his reaction, I already knew my guess was very, very precise ...   Cough... cough... Raymond was pretending to cough.   "Well, you are here too, Andrew? You are a crazy genius, Man. Are you smart enough to enter the smartest class? The Gods Level Classroom? I worship you," said Raymond grinning, patting his chest several times, trying to hold back laughter.   OH ... MY ... GOSH!!!!!!   Not Again !!!   "Well, who is this? Please introduce me to your girl, Raymond. How come you don't tell me that you have a chick already? Hey, pretty girl, may I know your name?" said Andrew, approaching us, then looked at my face ...   I held my breath waiting for his reaction ...   Three ... two ... one ...   "Wow !!! It's you again!!! How come you're here ??!"  Andrew shouted in surprise. He jumped back and posed like in comics.   Okay, Raymond had closed his mouth, turned his back on me, and was busy banging his hand on the wall, so much so. He laughed like crazy.   "So what?" I replied curtly.   "No. I mean, why?" Andrew said nervously.   "Buahahahahaha!!!! Huahahaha ... sorry, I can't stand it anymore. It is so ridiculous. You better watch your mouth not to tease others. Now, see who laugh at last," Raymond said, laughing, holding his stomach until his face and ears turned red.   "It's not funny," I snapped irritably.   "Damn you, Mond," Andrew said sullenly.   "What do I say before? It looks like you two are soulmates. You are meant to be together by fate. My oh my..." Raymond teased with a wide grin towards Andrew and me.   "Oh, Shut up!!" I shouted and Andrew together.   "See, you are so connected to each other," Raymond said, continuing to laugh out loud.   I snorted, annoyed.   "I kill you now!" Andrew shouted, jumping at Raymond, crashing into him mercilessly.   "Wow, easy, man!! Stay cool!" Raymond exclaimed in panic.   They were both busy playing wrestling on the floor until they got tired. Sweat was pouring down Andrew and Raymond's body. They indeed were close friends.
