The mixture turned from violet to blue instantly. I felt my heart skip a beat due to the sudden change. I held my breath as I unblinkingly gazed at the persisting blue colored solution. I felt like my fate was being decided by the colors of the solution. For a long while, it remained constant at blue but I was sure that wasn’t the end of it. Gradually, it turned to green, yellow, orange in that order until it stopped at a darker shade of red, almost black. I slowly averted my gaze to the two doctors who were looking at me with a newfound interest. Dad was horrifically staring at me as if I would die the next second. I felt my lungs scrunch painfully and my head get drowsy. I swear I could feel my eyes bulge out of their sockets and images start to blur, I don’t know if it was as a result of not blinking or the shock I was experiencing at the moment. My limbs were getting anesthetized as each second progressed such that I was slowly falling off the table. My dad was quick to rush beside me before I fell head first on the floor. “Just breathe, breathe “I heard him plead as he frantically shook me by the shoulders. I madly gasped for air after I realized I had been holding my breath all that while. I steadily regained my composure when air flooded my lungs like flood water into a dam. “Are you okay?” dad asked worriedly “I…I am okay” I stuttered looking back at the dark red solution “I was just startled for a bit there” “We should be on our way” mustache guy stood up. The other started packing their equipment. “Thanks for your time Michael Marcus, I hope we will be in…” The doctor paused when the solution changed to a blinding white color then dramatically start to vaporize. The new development made the doctor drop the glass tube on the floor. His face was the definition of shock, it was like he had just seen a dinosaur or a ghost. Mustache guy just gasped. For some seconds, no one moved or said anything, everyone just stared at me. I felt like I was supposed to give them an explanation but I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t even know what explanation I was supposed to give. The two doctors hurried outside without another word. They even forgot to take their equipment. “Will they be back?” I asked my dad who was just as confused as me “Uhm,” he blinked “you should probably go watch that movie” “Probably “I sighed then slowly walked to my room.
