It was a sight to see, Carter was yelling about being innocent and that he’d done nothing wrong. Jovannah was in crocodile tears, all hugged into her father’s chest, pretending to be distressed and upset. Clearly over there trying to get herself out of trouble.
Addison wondered if it was going to work? She knew Martin would never believe a harsh word about his precious Jovannah. But he also wanted to get rid of Addison with this mating alliance. She could see the way her mother was furiously looking at the boy.
She’d stated on more than one occasion that it should be Jovannah on that mating alliance, that she could pull it off the table and write Jovannah’s name on it if she so chose to. She only needed a reason to, and here was the reason she could.
Her oldest daughter had gone out of her way to bed Addison’s future Mate and those two half-sisters of hers both knew who he was and why he was here, so it was completely obvious that she’d done it on purpose to her mother.
That Jovannah had tried to ruin this mating alliance, or had tried to hide that she’d f****d Carter from all of them here, but had done it to hurt Addison on purpose.
She wondered just how this was all going to play out. “Mother, you asked me to come back?”
“Yes, Jovannah claims that Carter took her against her will, that you saw her trying to fight him off and left her there to be harmed by him, and didn’t stop to help her.”
Her eyes moved to Jovannah sobbing into her father’s chest. “She’s so cruel to me.” She heard the girl whine.
“Did she now?” Addison shook her head. “That’s not what I recall. Not what it looked like to me. It certainly didn’t sound like she wanted help, or was being harmed in anyway.” she looked at her mother, “Not what she mind-linked to me about the s*x she was having with my intended. That she did it on purpose, so he wouldn’t want me. Did it, to hurt me mother, ruin my chance to be happy, to have a mate and become a Luna to a pack.”
“It was consensual.” Carter grated from down on the floor, “See, she is the witness.”
“I did witness it, not pretty for me to see,” she sighed once more and looked down at Carter himself, “My own intended mate having s*x with my sister.”
“Order it out of that girl, the truth of the matter, make her state it.” Carter snapped.
Addison looked right at Jovannah. “Yes, someone please do that to the girl.” she nodded, would actually like to see her be forced to tell the truth of the matter. “Because why wouldn’t she mind-link to you or her father for help if that was the actual case. Alpha Marin will not stand for that in this pack. I believe it’s a full death sentence to brutalize one here in this pack. Even to attempt it.”
She saw anger touch Jovannah’s eyes before she burst into another huge bought of tears and wailed, “Don’t make me relieve it father, it was so painful. I was innocent and he didn't care.” As she turned her face back into his chest.
“I guess.” Addison looked at Carter, “The girl doesn’t care whether you survive or not, had s*x with you just to hurt me, probably doesn’t even like you at all. Now is willing to sacrifice your life, to make sure her secret stays safe, and I have no mate.”
He was staring up at her now as he realized just what was going on, that he had been used by her sister and for nothing at all, just to hurt another and that she intended to have Alpha Martin kill him for touching her.
“Order it out of her.” He yelled into the room.
“I can resolve this.” it was her mother. “I’ll Alpha Order Carter to speak of the truth of the matter.”
“Why me?” Carter roared, “She’s the one claiming untruths, I have a witness even. Addison saw it. I never bloody harmed that girl.”
She stared down at the poor boy, he was never going to get what he wanted and she knew it. Ordering Jovannah would hurt her. Martin would never allow it.
She sighed it was getting out of hand. “He didn’t hurt her mother, Jovannah was begging him to do it, wrapped completely around him crying out his name.” she turned her eyes to her mother, “Do you want to know where it happened...on the trail where I walk home every day from training with Asher.”
She heard her own mother snarl now, as she came to understand what was really going on. She also did know that Jovannah and her other half siblings didn’t like her any more than her own Mate did. Were in fact mean to her all the time and that Martin let them be.
Jovannah wailed even more, “Daddy, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Addison rolled her eyes now, she’d about had enough of the drama that was going on inside this office, looked at Carter and hunkered down to stare right into his eyes, “He’s never going to let anyone order the truth out of Jovannah. She’s a precious spoiled princess, and he believes every sickening word she states, even if he knows it’s a lie, he’ll never admit to it. I suggest you let the Luna order the truth from you, and everything right from the moment you got out of that car of yours.”
She stood up. It was all she could do to help him. If he didn’t allow it, the boy was going to lose his life over simply f*****g a she-wolf who he thought was his future mate, but turned out to be a real b***h and a half.
He was staring up at her. “I don’t like liars and I don’t like people who treat me like garbage, just so you know.” He’d not lied where she was concerned, but he’d glared at her most of the time she’d been in this room, for outing what he’d done with her half-sister. If she’d not, she knew he’d never have mentioned it and lied about it.
“Do it.” Carter finally stated, “I agree to being Alpha Ordered; I want the truth to be known. I did not r**e that girl.” He grated out.
He did appear to have a brain in that skull of his, “May I go now, mother?” she asked, figuring her work here was done. She had just saved his backside, and she didn’t really want to know all the details of what had happened between him and Jovannah, how many times she bedded the boy.
“I think you should stay, Addison, to hear the truth of the matter.” Her mother told her simply.
“I don’t need to be here now, and you don’t need me here in this room to hear it all. Unless, of course mother, when the truth comes out...” she looked to Jovannah and smiled at her, “I get to choose the punishment to be dished out for Jovannah’s seducing of my future Mate?”
“What?” Jovannah yanked herself right from her father’s arms and all the tears were suddenly gone from her, she was all just anger now. “Like hell you do, you’re just a worthless nobody. Nothing I do to you will see me punished. Father will never allow it, let alone you choosing something."
Addison smiled right at that girl, and then mind-linked right to her, ‘Keep digging that hole for yourself, now.’ Then she looked right to her mother questioningly.
“I’d like you to stay my daughter, and yes, I will be considering what you want for her as punishment. Stay and hear the truth for yourself. I feel you and he are right. Young Carter here is not likely to blame for this mess.”
“Mother!” Jovannah gasped out, completely shocked to hear her mother side with Addison on the matter. When she didn’t get what she wanted from her mother, she turned and looked at her father and Addison saw him shake his head ever so slightly, ‘no’ at her.
Typical, Addison thought. Of course, he wouldn't.
She looked at her mother. “I’d rather not to be honest. I saw enough for it to burn into my brain.”
“Sit Addison.” Her mother told her flatly.
She sighed more than a little annoyed that she was required to stay in this room and listen to it in detail. Walked herself over and sank down on the couch as indicated for her to do by her mother. A place she would never normally be allowed to sit.
Always had to sit in the chair before her Alpha’s desk when in this room, even if everyone else was over their on the couch sitting comfortably, it was not her place as the Luna’s bastard half-breed child to sit anywhere but in a chair that showed she was beneath all of them.
She watched as Carter was released from the Alpha unit on her mother’s order, not Alpha Martins. She waved them away and when they all looked to Martin, her wolf snarled right at all of them, and she actually rolled her aura at them, and then they released him and bowed down to her.
“Was that really necessary, Ingrid?” Alpha Martin stated.
She watched as her mother’s eyes turned right on him. She could feel the anger rolling off of her, “Do you want to bow down to me as well?” she snapped at him and saw him frown deeply, “I’m just investigating the matter of who lies, Jovannah or Carter?”
“Jovannah or Addison?” He stated, trying to correct her.
Her mother actually turned to look right at him, “State that once more and see what happens. Take it back right this instant, or I’ll order Jovannah herself in the harshest of manners. I don’t think she is innocent in any of this.”
Addison stared at them now and wondered who would win that. Her mother seemed really ticked off. She watched Alpha Martin turn and look away from his own Luna, “Do what you want.” He stated.
Addison knew he was unhappy because his own daughter was about to be caught out in her lies. No-one would voluntarily allow themselves to be Alpha Ordered unless they knew they were innocent. Jovannah had refused already, and Carter was willing to allow it.
That was proof enough to all in the room, that he was innocent of her charges against him. It was just a matter of hearing it now.
