When Eloise Wilson noticed that the stewardess had indicated that they were taking off, she removed her headphones from her ears.
She idly slipped on her expensive shades and applied sheer lipstick to her lips.
'Nobody is aware of my return. In France, I attempted to cut off all of my contacts. I didn't even bother letting my folks know I still wanted to return. After five years, I'm still repairing my broken heart because living there isn't helping. Not in the slightest!'
"Welcome back, Ms. Eloise Wilson." He gave her a greeting.
Walking like a runaway, Eloise remarked, "Yeah, it's good to be back." She had not changed—the self-assured Eloise who can terrify anyone by simply walking by.
After a moment of confusion, Ava shot back, "B-but...Isn't it?" Eloise ignored Ava once more and carried on strolling.
'She complains despite earning a large salary from me! I hate Secretaries!' She hates secretaries because her heart is broken by a secretary who stole her first love, Justin.
Annoyed by her secretary, she got into her car, which immediately took her to the penthouse.
Being wealthy, like the Wilson family, who were among the most affluent in California, possessing a penthouse is not an issue.
She is a spoiled rich girl who refuses to have plain things. So, living in a condo is never an option for her.
"Ms. Eloise, would you like me to tell your father you are back?" inquired Ava, Eloise's assistant.
"No, don't."
"But where will you stay?" Ava asked, struggling to lift the expensive luggage that Eloise had packed.
"In my penthouse, of course!" Eloise was already agitated by the constant interrogation of her assistant. 'Why is she asking me many questions now that I am in a hurry? Paparazzi may see me here!'
Her assistant and some staff members went up first to fix her luggage. It took them thirty minutes before everything was fine.
She then sent them away and went upstairs to the second floor. She went outside the veranda and could feel her hometown's cold breeze.
"Geez! I hate here!" Eloise immediately closed the glass door panel. 'Why did I not choose to go to South Korea or Japan?' she thought while mentally noting that it wasn't her will to stay in this place for too long. 'One month, then I'll go to South Korea.'
She noticed some magazines stacked under the bedside table and took them.
Her heart pounded erratically when she saw the front cover of Time Magazine. Justin and Madison happily embraced each other in the Notre Dame de Paris. She threw the magazine in the trash can.
'OK! They are happy! I'm the miserable one, and this is b-llsh-t!'
She took all the magazines in the entire household and threw them off of the veranda. She didn't care if there would be someone who would be hit on the chin. She was so angry, not at them but at herself.
'I thought I'd accepted that Justin's not mine and never was. And I don't want to be a hypocritical b***h to deny that it is okay with me at all. I can fool everybody that I have moved on, but not myself.'
She took her phone and then sent a text message to her assistant.
[Don't send me newspapers or magazines here. I could just kill right now!]
Her annoyance was gone when she heard the front door open. 'Who the hell is that!'
She immediately went down to see who dared to enter her haven. If you are a thief, huh, you're dead! I am in a condition to kill any monster now!'
"Where did I put my sunglasses? I can't go out. It was still hot outside." Eloise heard the burglar say.
Slowly, she took the expensive vase next to the big painting and was ready to break the ass of the burglar.
She heard him sniff, "Weird smell." The burglar said, which made her stop.
'What weird smell? Maybe he's referring to himself.' Eloise thought.
"Ugh! It stinks!" he said with exaggeration.
Eloise was now furious, 'I am using Miss Dior, and this is the most expensive perfume that every woman would kill to have!'
"Excusez-moi?!" She said in French.
It was as if the man had jumped because of her presence, and he looked at Eloise surprised. They are both surprised to see each other.
"ELOISE/LUCAS?!" they both shrieked.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" they said in unison.
"YOU!" they said together.
"Ugh!" Eloise said in frustration. "What are you doing in my penthouse, Lucas?!" she emphasized the word.
"I think you're wrong, Eloise. It's my penthouse." Lucas was grinning like an i***t. Eloise folded her arms in front of him.
"How come?" Eloise asked boldly with confusion.
"You sell it to me, remember?"
"What?!" Eloise shouted. "Hey, you must've been kidding me! What d'you think of me, poor?!" Eloise replied while thinking, 'Ugh! If I had not known that Lucas was a vampire, I would have already trampled him. But I must control my temper because god knows what this vampire man can do.'
"You were drunk that night. You said you didn't want anything to do with the things you have here. I just said I want your Penthouse. I bought this for ten million dollars cash, and your assistant talked to me because I didn't see you anymore. After all, you flew to France later." Lucas explains what happened.
"To my assistant?! That b***h! Why didn't she tell me? That's why my bank account increased! That girl needs a lot of explaining to do. I'm going to grope her neck!"
"Hey, don't fight with your assistant. It's not her fault, it's yours." Lucas grinned.
Eloise stared at him in disbelief. "And where do you think I will stay? Not to my parents, I tell you!" Eloise thought of going back to France or going to South Korea, in Yangdong, to meditate. 'I'll buy a ticket right away.'
"Stay here. It's not a problem if you're here," Lucas flashed a playful smile that greatly irritated Eloise.
"You stay in the guest room," Eloise scowled.
"Hahaha. Same old Eloise, eh?" Lucas laughs at her reaction. "It's okay with me. I'm not sleeping."
Eloise sneered at him. "It's up to you. I still have a headache." she turned her back on him and went upstairs.
Initially, there were three rooms in the Penthouse. One main bedroom, guest room, and maid's quarters were on the chin, but they were stiffened because Eloise made it a dance studio surrounded by mirrors. She dances, that's her hobby.
