They soon headed outside just as a red SUV pulled up near the tavern. A man stepped out of the parked car and tossed Mr Jones a set of keys before walking off.
“Thanks Gary!” Mr Jones yelled before turning back to Clare and Xavier. “This is your new car. Try not to break it. If you need to get rid of the car, take it to the nearest garage. They’ll swap the car for you.”
“Thanks.” Xavier murmured, taking the keys from her.
He decided it was best not to ask her questions. It was clear to him she had quite an extensive underground network. One that he did not want to mess with.
It was better for them to leave on good terms.
Once Clare handed their car keys to Mr Jones, they parted ways. The duo went to their new car and made their way back onto the highway with Xavier driving this time.
