5 -A Plan To Meet Her

1147 Words
Xavier swiftly pulled away from Maria, her touch feeling as if he was being burnt. He watched with dread as his mate ran off, wanting to go after her. But he couldn’t. If he did, it would only cause more trouble for her. He had to deal with the problem first. Snapping his eyes away from her disappearing figure, Xavier glared at Maria. “I thought I told you not to touch me!” Xavier growled. “You’re still alive right now because I know how much your death will hurt your father. Don’t push me further.” Maria frowned and looked at her two minions who quickly got a hint and hurried away. Once they were gone, Maria turned her face to Xavier, her arms crossed over her chest. “Are we really doing this again? ” Maria asked. “We both know that I’m the best option to be your Luna. So, stop acting like your mate is still out there. You’re twenty-three. I doubt you’ll find her.” Xavier clenched his fists, trying to stop himself from telling Maria he had in fact found his mate. No one could know until he had marked her and they had completed the mate ritual. Only then would it be safe enough for Xavier to introduce her as his mate. Right now though, he needed to stop Maria’s delusions. He wasn’t sure what made her chase him so much but Xavier knew if he didn’t put a stop to it, things would only get worse. Not that any of his rejections ever seemed to work… “I still have two years before I should give up.” Xavier muttered. “And stop deluding yourself into thinking you’ll be my Luna. Because even if I don’t find my mate, I’ll never consider being with you.” Maria growled at him. “We’ll see about that.” She turned her heel and walked away, leaving Xavier alone in the courtyard. Running a hand through his head, Xavier sighed in frustration, trying to figure out how he was going to get his mate to accept him. She didn’t seem to like him from the way she stared at him with dislike. Or maybe it was because Maria had wrapped herself on him. He knew that if someone did that to her, he would lose it. Seducing her wasn’t going to be an easy task. But first he needed more information on her. Xavier didn’t even know her name and yet here he was trying to find a way to seduce her. Heading off to the facility building, Xavier quickly made his way through the familiar hallways until her came to a wooden door with the words “Professor Wilder” on it. As he knocked on the door a female voice yelled, “Come in!” He entered to find a female werewolf sitting behind a desk marking paper. She looked up as he closed the door behind him and sighed. “What do you want to know?” The female muttered as she went back to her work. “I need a favor.” Xavier said, taking a seat. She gazed back up at him and stared at him with her gold eyes. “That’s going to cost you.” Xavier sighed and pulled out a pair of car keys from his pocket, placing them on the table. She stared at them in shock. “What the hell did you do?!” The female exclaimed. “I swear Xavier if you did something illegal-” “Calm down Rose… I just need some information. I swear it’s nothing illegal.” Xavier sighed at his sister. “What kind of information?” Rose asked, narrowing her eyes. “Just some information on the new student.” “What for? Also, I can’t give you that. Student information is private. I’ll lose my job if they find out I’m giving away confidential stuff.” Xavier sighed. He didn’t want to get his sister into trouble but he also needed the information. And it wasn’t like he was going to ask for her home address. He literally just wanted her name. Guess he had no choice… “She’s my mate.” Xavier stated, knowing his sister was the only person he could trust with that information. “And I just need her name. That won’t get you into trouble, will it?” Rose’s jaw dropped in shock. “The transfer student is your mate?! When did this happen?” “Remember when I went to meet the Creekwood Pack’s Alpha… Well, after meeting with that creep, I went to a local bar and spotted her there. Tried to catch her there but she disappeared.” Xavier explained. “Well, you’re one lucky fucker…” Rose muttered. “But wait, how do you know she’s your mate?” “Because I saw her again and before you say anything, I didn’t get a chance to talk to her.” Xavier said. “She ran off before I could.” “Looks like the Big Bad Wolf scared his mate away.” Rose laughed at his expense. “Can’t believe you lost her twice!” “Yeah, yeah… it’s so funny…” Xavier muttered. “So, will you help me or not?” “I will.” Rose nodded, getting serious. She turned to her computer and typed in something. “Okay... Here we are… Her name’s Clare Flora and she’s a scholarship student enrolled into the Healer courses. I’m giving you the extra information because I feel bad for you.” “Clare Flora…” Xavier murmured, the name sounding sweet to his ears. “Thanks Rose.” “Sure…” Rose nodded before picking up the keys. “Oh and I’m keeping these.” “Fine. But I need one more favor.” “What now?” “I need you to ask Professor Harris to get her to tutor me.” Xavier explained. “I want her to have no chance of running away.” Considering she was a scholarship student meant two things. One Clare was incredibly smart and two she needed money. There was no way she'd turn down an offer to do paid tutoring. It was probably wrong of him to manipulate the situation but he couldn’t think of a better way to get closer to her without her running away. Rose pursed her lips for a moment before sighing, “You’re lucky he’s my mate.” Xavier took the answer as a yes. “Thanks Rose. You’re the best.” “Whatever brat.” Rose muttered. “Now get out of here before I decide not to help you.” Xavier quickly got up and hurried out the room, excited to have a reason to be around his mate and have a chance to win her over.
