I lifted my shoulders in a shrug, hoping that it would be enough to make it seem like I wasn’t nearly as affected by what was going on as I ordinarily would have been. I didn’t want Anastasia to think that I was worried, because if I did, then she would know that I had my doubts about everything that was going on. That conversation that I had had with Persephone had done quite the number on my spirit, and until I managed to recover, I would need to continue with this front. I didn’t think that it would cause too much damage in the first place.
