Ollie groaned as he came to. Without even opening his eyes he could hear somebody in front of him, but it was so hard to get the energy to wake up. As he heard Linda’s groan his eyes shot open.
There was his new girlfriend slung over Max’s shoulder, being carried with all the grace and dignity of a sack of potatoes. Ollie wanted to growl and attack, but couldn’t risk Linda being hurt if he blitzed.
“I can see you’re already awake.” Max drawled and didn’t even bother turning around. “If you try anything funny, your girlfriend is going to get the brunt of it. I’ll do whatever it takes to save mine, I think you can understand that point. I didn’t realize the Linda she talked about all the time associated with vampires, but here we are.”
