Professor Buchan nodded in agreement, “Yes, and if we can decipher the co-ordinates, they could lead us to the treasure: hence my reserve earlier, my dear boy. This has to be done with the utmost discretion, at all costs we should avoid an unwelcome and unseemly treasure hunt.”
David Briggs looked uncomfortable. “Where does that leave me? I made myself quite clear, I think, I want to sell the jewel.”
Professor Buchan leant forward, thought better about putting a hand on the barrister’s knee and sat back in his chair again.
“Think about this David, if we of Oxford University can find this treasure that has been hidden away for so long, it will be a worldwide sensation. On the level of the Sutton Hoo ship burial or … indeed…it might even eclipse it, who can say? You mustn’t be in a hurry
