Chapter 10For the next two days, Ryland was confined to bed while the plan was set in motion. He was kept updated as to how Henry and Ballard had ensured all the regular customers who might need some of the apothecary’s tonics, medications, or powders that they made up on the premises had enough supplies to tide them over for at least another week. “The excuse being offered to any curious customer is that we’re undertaking a stock take to enable new merchandise and medications to be brought in.” Ryland sighed, then patted his purring cat and the attention-seeking pup. “At least I have you to keep me company.
