Chapter 44 The sun streaming through the windows of his room woke Mark up with a sudden jolt. He sat up and realized he was still dressed, sweaty and smelly. He grunted, shoved the cardboard box that had contained his new cell phone aside, looked at the bags on the bed and grunted some more. He felt stiff and disagreeably unrested. He pulled himself out of the sofa, stretched his arms above his head and went to take another cold shower. That cleaned him up but didn’t restore him. He grabbed the hotel’s robe from the peg, put it on, went to rummage through his knapsack, got his swimming trunks out, slipped them on, and walked out of the room.
